First off this is a great light kit, when used mounted on a camera it can be a bit top heavy and the included hot shoe attachment is very cheap and flimsy. The brightness is great, I have used this to light products for product photography as well as portrait shots and macro photography. There is an on/off switch on the back along with two dials to control brightness and colour temperature along with a small screen that shows you your current settings and battery life.As to be expectedly the battery does not last very long at the brightest settings, and lasts even less when you have the colour temperature set to the coolest setting. I would recommend purchasing a second battery or investing in an AC power adapter which is supported. I would also find a different hot shoe adapter if planning to attach to any camera. The thread on this light does allow you to fit a standard tripod mounting plate, or mount directly into a tripod

The light is ok, its plastic but for the price I wouldn't expect anything else. As long as it doesn't fall off the camera it will be fine. HOWEVER. The supplied hot shoe attachment is so poorly made that the likelihood of this happening is very high. I used it for about an hour and the fitting became very wobbly, developed a crack and I had to take it off the camera before the light fell off. Turns out that where the fitting screws into the light there is about 4mm of metal ferrule that is inserted into a plastic barrel - this is all that supports the light, and isn't enough! I managed to cobble together an alternative fitting to complete the shoot. Its an easy fix - get a hot shoe attachment with a mini ball head and then the light will fit on the ball head, sorted. But we shouldn't have to fix it ourselves.

Personally, I feel that the Neewer video light supercedes many others on the market by placing the LEDs on the outer edges of the panel to avoid outer shadows and a more broad diffusion of light. This design concept is frequently mentioned in various online reviews which test a handful of brands with similar specs. I'm really pleased with my choice and would recommend to others!

Really great little led light, very lightweight and easy to mount and dismount, battery charges up quite quickly and seems to hold its charge, the back of the panel has two knobs and a led indicator for the color temperature and the brightness.

Really loving this slim light panel, its very lightweight and extremely easy to set up and adjust, its got controls on the back on the panel as well as an lcd display for the battery and colour temperature, absolutely must have if you are serious about your videos!

All round... good kit for the money...

An amazing light for its size. Battery life not so great, but I just bought a spare battery.
