Excellent design and proven durability.
This is my third set of these great panniers -- I buy them about every 7 or 8 years or so.In my opinion these are better-built than similar panniers from Jannd, Blackburn, or Ortleib. This item has a heavier metal frame bar and internal plastic support panel on bottom, heavier rivets, bolts, hook, and bungee strap. Totally adjustable and reversible to fit any standard rear bicycle rack, left or right. Built-in strong nylon grab-strap, also includes separate removable (and length-adjustable) over-the-shoulder carry strap.I use them on almost every bicycle trip, probably 15 trips a week x 52 weeks x 7 years > 5000 trips and more, sometimes loading them very heavily with books, tools, or groceries, riding fast over rough urban streets, going up and down curbs (vertical bounce,) and leaning them up against walls and posts when parking.Useful modifications:- Gorilla Duct Tape on external wear points, where the bag rubs against metal frame or rack parts.- 3M hi-viz reflective tape on sides & rear (stuck on with Shoe Goo) for greatly-improved day/night visibility.- Shoe Goo on the plastic rubber boots that cover the metal rack hooks -- otherwise, they quickly slide off & get lost, leaving bare metal hooks that are not dangerous, but less comfortable if the hand encounters them.

Really easy to use and attach or detach from your bike ...
Really easy to use and attach or detach from your bike quickly so you can take them with you. I cannot use them with the toddler seat on the back of my bike but they do work with a kids bike trailer attatched to the seat post. I can also use them when my rear basket is slid on to the rack so I have lots of space for groceries. My only trouble is that if you fill bags first & then try to get them into the panniers sometimes my bags are bulging & I have to unpack a little put the bag into the pannier & then repack. Still works great, easy to pop off once I'm home & take everything inside.

Very sturdy and robust
I have been using a pair of these bags on my 'grocery' bike several times a week for over a year now. These bags have held up to the job remarkably well. They show no sign of wearing out. A couple of minor issues: the first is that they are rather heavy, but I think that comes with durability. Also it can be a little tricky to fit large items in them due to the metal bars. However when you pick up the bags when they are fully loaded you'll love these same metal bars so its a trade off. I also had to get out my dremel to get these to fit perfectly on my custom bike rack, but that is not a big issue to me. I constantly get comments on what nice bags these are when i'm in the grocery store! The bags also easily hook onto shopping carts which is nice. If you want something durable and that is sturdy, then these are the bags for you. Bring back your grocery's on a bike is great workout - try it!

Not sturdy
I’m a little mad that this was 80 dollars and it’s not that thick ..as you can see in the picture a gallon of milk pulls the bottom of the pannier to almost touch the spoke ..not that sturdy for the money .If it were a 40 dollar pannier then I wouldn’t complain but I really expected this one tobe more sturdy ..I wouldn’t buy this again for 80 dollars no way ..that’s not worth it at all, buy another one

Great but needs a way to secure from theft
I really like this pannier. Easy to install. Easy to detach and has a shoulder strap. Holds a paper grocery bag. I wish there were a way to secure to my bike to deter theft. Currently using a cable through handle an to bike frame. Other than that, and the pricey price, I highly recommend. Will be buying another for other side of my bike.

Durable, strong. Best for smooth streets
Good grocery-getter bag. It's strong enough that you can fill it to the top (and beyond) with heavy groceries, and it will handle the load well. It's proven very durable in 10+ years of grocery runs for me. When not in use, it folds so flat you barely notice it's there. The one shortcoming is that it relies on simple metal hooks to attach to your rack. The simple hooks make this a bag for riding on smooth pavement. On rough roads, I've often had one or the other hook bounce off the rack, leaving the loaded bag hanging by a single hook. If you ride rough or pot-holed roads, consider getting a bag that has secure clips that clamp to your rack, rather than hooks.

great bag
I have been searching for a pannier that would stay on, which seems to be a problem with some of the other less expensive panniers. This one does the trick. It has a dual hooking system - two coated metal hooks that go on the rack, and a bungee cord on the back that attaches down below to keep it from jumping off. I go over tracks twice a day and it has not come off. It has a metal insert that you can pop up to keep the bags shape when in use (it has an inner clip to keep it in place), then it folds up when not in use (again it has an adjustable clip to keep it closed). You can slide the bag back on the rack to keep your feet from hitting it. I have a Amsterdam cruiser and it works just fine. The only down side is that there isn't a top to close off the bag (hence the four star instead of five star rating). It has a removable shoulder strap, which I just put in the bag to keep it from getting caught. It seems sturdy and durable and has enough room for a grocery bag if you care to use one. It is easy to remove, but I keep my on just in case I need it, as it isn't in the way when it's folded up. I bought one just to make sure I liked it and I'm buying another.
