3M 9088-200 High Performance Double Coated Tape, 50 mm x 50 m, White, Pack of 5

I've been using 9088-200 tape for a while now. It's credentials are excellent with constant temperature exposure up to 90 degrees C and brief excursions to 150 deg C allowed. It's also good in environments with moisture and will stay adhered even after compete submersion in water.Use it for anything - as an extra-strong carpet tape, or to hold cardboard box seams together if you're re-using and modifying boxes. Used on smooth hard materials such as aluminium or steel plate, Perspex acrylic sheet and the like, you can get an almost "structural" strength and I expect you could construct small items such as models or project boxes. All the lapped joins could be done using this tape and it would provide a high level of confidence in how robust the finished construction was.It's very sticky and it will probably gum-up the pair of scissors you're using to cut it eventually, plus it will stick to the sides of the scissor blades, etc. I use a sharp knife to cut lengths of this off and to trim it after application.If you've tried different double-sided tapes and thought they were all pretty rubbish, try this one. A genuine alternative to adhesive in a lot of cases.It can be expensive, particularly on 50mm/2 inch wide rolls - but the 50 metre length goes a long way. Amazon sometimes has deals on packs of this item, which is the way to buy it if you can afford to buy it this way.Comes off the roll with a carrier tape on one side, and the other side is adhesive. Stick it down and peel off the carrier tape to get the double-sided effect. Sometimes, positioning requires neither side to be sticky, so my advise would be to save the carrier tape you peel off. You can always apply it to the sticky side of a piece of tape you cut in the future, so neither side is sticky which may help with positioning.
