I wanted to use my broadband in the building 100 metres away at the bottom of the garden, and so I purchased a TP-LINK TL-WA5210G. It is much larger than I had imagined, being approximately a foot long (a normal foot, not a clown's foot), but this isn't a problem if you are mounting it on a pole.Using the industrial-strength nylon straps provided, I mounted it on the breather pipe for the solar water heater, giving it adequate height and a clear view of the building 100 metres away at the bottom of the garden, and I then attached a 10 metre patch cable with an RJ45 plug at both ends (not supplied). The device is supplied with a connector box with three sockets. One is for the cable that goes to the TP-LINK TL-WA5210G, one for the power supply (also provided in the box), and the last one is for connecting to the router (a one-metre patch cable with RJ45 plug on both ends is also provided for this purpose). The power supply sends electricity along the 10 metre patch cable with an RJ45 plug at both ends (not supplied) to the unit, meaning that you do not need a power supply or socket on the roof.I switched on, logged into the TP-LINK TL-WA5210G and set it up as an access point. The whole process from start to finish took less than ten minutes. The TP-LINK TL-WA5210G will send your wifi signal a very long way indeed, so you MUST password your device and password the wifi, or the whole neighbourhood will be using your broadband. The most difficult thing about setting up the wifi hotspot was thinking of a name for it. I thought of several names (LAN of Milk and Honey, The Promised LAN, Shut your dogs up, It burns when IP), but I eventually decided on Here Be Witches in memory of my ex-wife.The signal in the building 100 metres away at the bottom of the garden is on maximum strength and now I can access the internet on many devices including my Amazon Kindle, tablet, phones and laptop without having to climb a ladder and shove a home-made metal spike antenna up my jacksie.I have given four stars because I like the TP-LINK TL-WA5210G. Five stars is for 'I love it' and I don't feel emotionally attached to it in any way. Maybe our relationship will flourish and there will be love in the air, but until that happens, it's four stars only. Sorry TP-Link.

Bought on review, but range is not upto the mark. It doesn't cover my home but somebody mentioned it can give you a range of 2-3kms & 10-15kms!!!And whereas on TPlink's site its 50+ kms distance settings!I don't know whether I have received fake one, as it has some spots on that. Some wireless issues.Firstly I have tried putting in home and then outdoor as old TV antenna. But nothing works!!I have tried so many. Can I anybody give some suggestions?

Best outdoor router!!
Easy to configure and easy to install.Edit(after 3 years and 11months' use):The two devices I had purchased are still running without any problem.I have the two devices installed at a distance of 72 mtrs, on at a height of 30ft and other at 48 ft in a microwave rich neighborhood.Presently, only one thing is there which is pushing me to buy latest devices, that is this device is giving max speed of 21mbps (divide it by 8 for MBps). However, my internet connection at the other end is 50 mbps. But, the device has limited my speed to 21.

Good product i used it as a range extender
Good product i used it as a range extender, but would have been much better if it had options to hang on the wall, it can only be attached to a pole no option provided for fixing it to the wall.

Three Stars
1. installed on roof and getting wifi range upto 700 meters. it will be better to use Antenna Polarization as vertical or horizontal rather than external for better Service.2. Most useful to use as access point rather than repeater since repeater do not accept secured wifi network.3. Best to use WIFI Mac address authorization method with hidden SSID broadcast.Overall Great item to use upto 700 meter

Difficult to set up!
I normally set up all switches, routers and all systems in our company. For starters, you might as well throw away the quick setup and start blind. Having to set up your ip address, then change it several times is insane. Especially if you are setting up 2 of them as a bridge. I had to call tech support 4 times. Each person had a different setup than the last one. The 3rd one couldn't help at all so he said that another person would call me back in a few minutes, who knew more about the product. They never called back.On the next day I finally found a person who got it working for me. The final issue I had was that security would only work on WEP. Other settings did not work. The only plus side is that I was able to build a bridge inside 2 buildings about 300 feet apart.

Good buy.
Works very well for our dock over 180 ft away. Strong signal, can do Netflix and music streaming at same time easily with this repeater.

Excellent reception.
Excellent reception...many options - took some time to get all the setting right, but a good performer when correctly configured.

have to reset every couple of days.
Purchased 4 of them. In AP mode they dont seem to be very good for through put or dropped packets. They have to be restarted fairly often if you want to have a consistent connection. They seems to have less problems if you use it in client mode.

Great!
Very good antennas for the price. They are tough and the range is good.I have had 6 of them for 2 years and they work perfect in very adverse weather conditions (snow, glaze, rain etc.)
