Tarragon seeds are naturally difficult to start. THESE WORK.
I expected a larger packet and a slower germination. I was wrong on both. These seeds are incredibly small, and 5,000 of them fit into a small glassine bag. I appreciated the semi-translucent bag within the seed envelope, it made it easier to manage them and see what I was taking. I did a test pot when my shipment arrived. The instructions were clear and explain to plant 15-20 seeds per desired plant and expect 14-60 days for germination. I took the tiniest pinch, about 15-20 seeds. Five days later, six shoots are coming up and two of them are differentiating leaves. UPDATE: a week later, almost two weeks after sowing, 8 seeds have sprouted and 3 of those have differentiated into 4-leaf starters.I might post a photo update of how they do. I have read about how difficult it is to grow tarragon, but these look like quality fresh starts that give a chance that some of the seeds will germinate, sprout and establish.

Look through all the online reviews of this company. There are a large number of customers with very similar complaints about these seeds (and this company). In my case nothing sprouted. The "Tarragon" seed packet is also mislabeled, as they can't possibly be true Tarragon, which can only grow from a cutting. Given the company's reputation, I wonder if these are really seeds from ANY kind of herb!

Sprouting at least 75% if not better
Ok so this is what they look like at day 5. I did notice they are prone to dampingoff so I sprayed last night with household hydrogen peroxide just in case. They seem healthy. I will not let these grow to free form, I will harvest these before they are a half meter in height.

Few sprouts
I didn’t have much luck with these seeds. Sowed after Mother’s Day. Zone 7b.

Nothing.
Planted several different ways two to three seeds at a time, it never came up, I don’t know if I just got a bad batch or what but very sad.
