These use a proper warm white led and have charged fine on a dull day today.Build wise they are good for the price but would be better if each led was sealed to the weather where the cables enter at the bottom of the leds. This is where similar sets always fail after a few years or less.The advantage of this set appears to be a larger solar panel and higher capacity battery than most sets for the same number of led string. The motion can also be changed to differing patterns and memory keeps your chosen setting.Micro USB socket on the solar panel combined with a plug in the set's wiring allows the panel unit to be disconnected easily and the battery topped up in gloomy weather from a suitable power supply like a USB socket. The lead for this is not included.All round a good set newly purchased which is twinkling away nicely as I type, after a day of gloom. These have worked fine for 12 weeks through the winter and I have gone on to purchase more for friends and family.

Sadly they were lovely for a few months then noticed they were not coming on. Found that panel had some water inside despite being tightened.properly and being in a fairly sheltered spot. I brought the panel in, dried it out, charged it and it worked again for a while but then stopped, this time much more water in. Seems each time it rains every bit of water gets in. Sadly a waste of money.

Update changed to 1 star as, after 11 months, and using a USB charger during winter these have now stopped working, well not all of them the first few feet and the last few feet are still working, just the majority of the middle are dead.These are great solar lights, they have a large panel with seems to capture plenty of sun during the day which allows them to stay on till dawn. The really nice bit is during winter with less sun you can disconnect the solar panel and battery unit and take it indoors and recharge on USB to top them up on those short days and long nights.

Update: I contacted the seller and explained the problem and a replacement was sent straightaway, many thanks for that. Very polite reply too, excellent service.I bought the 400 LED warm white lights and put them out early April this year. They have worked fine all summer and looked really good but, come September, they simply stopped working. I have other fairy lights in the garden that are still working until late into the night so it is not that they are not getting enough sun. A rather annoying business as they are fixed in place with cable tacks so it will be a big job to take them off and replace, I sort of expected them to last at least several years like my previous ones.

I have tried various solar lights for my garden. Some were okay then I found these. The lights remain on for far longer because of the large size solar panels usually not available with this type of lights. The lights themselves give a bright white light (led’s).I have even bought a second set. Highly recommended for the garden fence and guttering.No more live electric cables to kill you.

Had these for several months. Bought them to replace a set that were twice as expensive from a 'Celebrity' online Garden Retailer [she's regularly in the Telegraph]. They are miles better! Really well made.After a really dull Winter's day - they may light-up only briefly - but most days they charge enough to go through the night.The light is very 'white' - but looks very pretty. Add a touch of life to the garden after dark. Would buy again.

We bought these for along our fence during Christmas. They are still there (16th Jan) as we are keeping the spirit in Ireland during covid. They look lovely, very bright and twinkle on the right setting. I found that they would only last an hour or two maximum on a grey day but on a day with lots of light and a little sunshine you might get 4+ hours. I did try to charge them by USB on a grey day but didn't get a lot of extra time. I may not have had them plugged in long enough. Overall I will be buying more next year and putting them everywhere :)

Originally bought a set 2 years ago, they are wrapped around a palm and strung along the walls and they have survived some harsh winter weather; rain, very high winds & deep snow. There was a small period where they went off and we thought they'd had their time but suddenly sprung back to life and continue to twinkle beautifully. So I'm back to buy another set for another section of my garden. Hopefully this set will be as robust, highly recommend!
