An excellent little revenge road trip!
If you haven’t read Savannah Blues, the first book in this series, I highly recommend you do that before reading this. You could probably read this without that as it makes very slight references back to that book but you’ll miss so much if you don’t read that one first. It’s worth it!This book is more focused on the character of BeBe whereas the first book was a bit more of a Weezie focused story. In this book. BeBe Loudermouth is a Southern belle who has been played. She’s been conned by a handsome fast taking two-faced con man who took her for just about everything she had, and she had a lot. All she managed to have left was a broken-down run-down 1950’s era motel on Tybee Island. Although the location is definitely a prime one, the motel itself is definitely not, at least not yet. BeBe isn’t one to sit back and take things lightly though so she decides to make the best out of her situation and first get that motel back up and running and then get the biggest and best revenge she can on the man who took everything from her. So, she loads up her car with her best friend Weezie and a whole band of misfits and sets off to Fort Lauderdale to get her even, plus some. This book is so much fun. It’s a delightfully humorous tale that takes you on a trip with a group of friends that are much more like family. They go from Georgia to Florida and plan a terrifically diabolical plan to get back at a real jerk. It’s a great road trip and a book I couldn’t have enjoyed more!I would warn you to skip the audio book at all costs. Even though the narrator is great it skips more than half the book, takes out a lot of the humor, and pretty much ruins the story. This is one that is best read the good old fashioned way!

Great fun!
I discovered author Mary Kay Andrews last year when I picked up Savannah Blues, and I loved this book! So I decided to read another novel in this series, Savannah Breeze. This story was just as good, if not better. Where Savannah Blues centered on Weezie Foley, Savannah Breeze focuses on her best friend, BeBe Loudermilk.Loudermilk owns one of the most successful and trendy restaurants in Savannah, as well as a number of rental properties. At the annual Telfair Ball, Loudermilk meets the hunky, sexy, and refined Ryan Edward Millbanks, III. They become an item almost immediately. When her life becomes complicated by the hospitalization of her grandmother, Millbanks (an investment banker) starts taking over the care of her properties. Before she knows what is happening, Millbanks has disappeared and she is told by the police that he is a con-artist. Not only that, but he has swindled Loudermilk out of almost everything she owned including her house and all her possessions. The only property she is left with (besides her restaurant which she can no longer afford to operate) is a dilapidated set of beach cottages on Tybee Island. Millbanks used her money to buy The Breeze Inn, but didn't get a chance to liquidate the property before he had to leave Savannah. At first, Loudermilk is unsure of what to do with The Breeze Inn. She can sell the property for a small fortunate to a developer. But finding herself homeless, she decides to renovate the cottages and make one of them her home with the help of caretaker Harry and with Weezie's vintage furniture. She also hatches a plot to find Millbanks and to get her money back. This escapade is a hoot and involves Weezie, Harry and Granddaddy Loudermilk.Andrews' books are always fun, but they also come with a message. In Savannah Breeze, we learn that sometimes we find love in the most unlikely places. Material possessions are way over-rated in bringing us happiness. And sometimes what you think might be a personal catastrophe can actually turn out to be a good thing.I have already purchased another Andrews' book, Blue Christmas--she's that good.

Part stupid, part interesting
This was my second book by Mary Kay Andrews. This first book I read was Savannah Blues which is the first in this short 2 book series. I loved Savannah Blues and the Weezie character. She made me root for her because she was so likable. Likewise, getting to know BeBe in Weezie's book was great. I loved the character and thought her own book would be interesting and so fun to read. However, the first 1/4 of the book was so unbelievable I wanted to scream. First, her 2nd husband was sent to prison for looking at computer porn? What? That was so strange and odd. No one goes to prison for looking at porn unless it's child pornography which the book did not state. I didn't understand that whole concept. Didn't the author do any research or were we suppose to believe it just because she said it? Probably 80% of America would go to prison if you could get arrested for looking at computer porn. Then we are suppose to believe that a competent and very smart business woman who had been supporting herself and building her business for 15 or so years would just sign papers and hand everything over to some guy she just met? Seriously? I mean she had JUST met the guy. She new him for all of what? A week? Someone that ignorant would not have been able to build up a business like she had. I mean she had been married 3 times - she wasn't some wet behind the ears 20 year old. If I had not paid $10 for the book, I probably would have stopped reading it right then. Which would have been a shame because the rest of the book was well written, funny, interesting and fun to read.So I liked the last 3/4 of the book but the first 1/4 was stupid.

Book 2 Weezie and Bebe We are getting the money back
BeBe Loudermilk, Weezie's best friend, has been played and all her money is gone by a con man. The only thing he left her is a broken down motel on Tybee Island and a fisherman who doesn't have a boat acting as a manager. But nothing will stop BeBe from getting her money back and she off to Ft. Lauderdale with Weezie, Weezie's Dad, and the fisherman to get her money back. This is a laugh out loud story and picks up where book 1 left off. As another reviewer wrote please read this series in order.

Having visited Savannah, I found this series of books about BeBe and Weezie a lot of fun to read. Can't wait to read more from Mary Kay Andrews.
