Beautiful granulating Blue grey
Love this colour, esp it's granulating effect.

Brilliant.
Impeccable, to say the least. It's a non granulating pigment and is best used in works that require washes. The above piece was done using DS Pthalo Turquoise and I cannot deny having fallen in love with the hue. Though overpriced compared to its contemporaries, investing in would be essentially worthwhile. I'm certain about adding more from the brand to my palette in the days that shall come.

Sooooooo nice - this whole mineral line!
I am loving this Daniel Smith 'fine' line of genuine mineral colors. I learned about it from sis in law who uses the oil paints. They really have a magical quality (which is why I bought them tbh.. for magick art). Vivid colors and MANY levels of sheerness and opacity with water - you can also use them on a slightly damp brush out of the tube as a gouache and they sit like matte jewels on thick paper. This garnet is a warmer tone than I expected - all the mineral ones have a little surprise to them but all are great. Be aware that they are really packed into those tubes and want to pop out all at once.. just keep a palette or container nearby to make dots and you can use them to watercolor later. Trying to have a little self control so I don't go broke collecting these! But they are long lasting.

Wonderful mixed color for shadows, shading and more
Moonglow is a granulating pigment, which creates beautiful, multi-colored effects when allowed to pool and settle on the page. It’s what I’d call a neutral, somewhat-greyed purple. Overall, it’s on the warmer side, but has some nice cooler shadows, too. Amongst other things, I’ve found it works well for shading everything from tree trunks, to snowbanks, to skin. It has a permanent place in my travel palettes, as well as in my studio. When I first started learning about watercolors, my instructors always emphasized using single-pigment colors to keep my options open in terms of mixing. But there’s something wonderful about the convenience of a perfectly blended color like Moonglow.

Just what I would expect...
I love Daniel Smith and this tube was no exception - beautiful color, highly pigmented, and very easy to mix with other colors. Daniel Smith is my go to for all my watercolors!

Color accuracy
Most of the Perylene Violet paints that I've seen have leaned more towards a brown-violet. This one is more like a violet-brown. I'm very happy with the color and texture. This color will will be great for shadowing. As usual, Daniel Smith does not disappoint. (I did not add a photo because the camera on my phone is nothing like the actual color.)
