How efficient - How much energy - Comparison to Oil Filled
I am reviewing the Homeleader 1250W/1500W that I bought on Amazon and comparing an Oil Filled Heater with 3 heat settings that I also bought on Amazon, the brand not important other than it has a thermostat as does the Homeleader, which is very important to all energy savings. My review/comparison is not 100% scientific BUT it is better than the reviews “it works great or it’s a waste of money.”I live in a 5th wheel RV that I am trying to maintain an inside temperature of 60 degrees. The outside temperature at the time of the comparison is 26 to 30 degrees. I also have 3000 BTU propane heater without a blower that I have running at the other end of the XXXX Sq. ft. room that I am heating. The room has two slides, is poorly insulated but the entire RV is skirted. I am using an Amp meter to do my comparison even though the manufactures rates their product by Watts. If the reader desires to convert the Amps to Watts there are on line conversion sites that can do that. The AC voltage is 117.3.Infrared Heaters: (radiant) are designed to heat objects or people. I placed the Homeleader 1250W/1500W under my desk. My desire was that this heater would keep my legs and feet very warm on the Low setting of 1250W (9.2 amps on my Amp meter) and the thermostat on the half way mark. It did a great job but ran more often than not and it did not warm the room air behind and above me as I had hoped for. If I turned on High (1500W 11.3 amps) it did a better job in heating the full room, however it ran most of the time therefore it used more energy…but my legs and feet were real toasty. It is said that the operating cost for infrared heaters are the same regardless how much or little the heater is priced at. Even the expensive hardwood cased radiant heaters use the same amount of energy per BTU. Some people that purchased expensive radiant heaters disagree with this saying their heater is fabulous. How would they know unless they did a side by side comparison of the energy used to maintain the desired temperature? I’m inclined to think that 1,500 watts per hour produce 5,100 BTUs of heat and is called the BTU or British Thermal Unit.Oil Filled Heater: These heaters heat the room air but they don’t do it fast. Using the same RV and condition, placing the under the same desk, the oil filled heater did what it was designed to do. That does not mean it was a whole lot better for under the desk. Matter of fact I preferred the radiant heat in that it did keep my legs and feet warmer, however the oil filled heater heated the full room and my back was not chilled as was the case with the radiant heater. The oil filled has 3 settings Max 1500W Mid 800W and Min 700W.I ran it on the Mid 800 Watts (6.5 Amps) and set the thermostat on 5 the highest being 6.It maintained 60 degrees and in the beginning it was “OFF” more that “ON”. As the temperatures outside began to fall, and the thermostat called for more heat, it was “ON more than “OFF” to maintain the 60 degrees but as was stated, it was heating the FULL ROOM rather than me the person.Point of interest on Amp draw: RV roof top air conditioners draw around 10.5 to 11 amps in mid temperatures. It costs as much to run most of the space heaters as it does and air conditioner.Amps Comparison: Infrared Low 1250 (9.2 amps) runs about the same amount of time to heat me the person and keep the air behind me at a fair temperature uses MORE energy than the Oil Filled running about the same amount of time at Mid 800 Watts (6.5 Amps). So here is the Point: Buy the heater for job that you want it to do. I could buy one and make it do both things but I would pay for it in energy cost and never be totally satisfied with being cooler at times.I am keeping both and will continue to run my third little heater in the back of my small room.If you like this review, share it. Perhaps the manufactures will take notice give us EXACT technical information.Perhaps some that have quality products may even increase their sales.which I am Under my desk, it does a great job even though I have my RV furnace turned way down and my back would get cold if I didn’t have a very small propane heater on the other side of the living area that I am heating. draws 9.2 Amps on Low. The other setting High draws 11.3 Amps. Infrared heaters do not warm rooms but small areas in rooms.Homeleader 1250W/1500W Radiant HeaterSo is a variable. I only use one very, very small propane space heater in the living room where I am sitting. My back can get chilled because radiant heat is warming the front side of me not the air behind me. I can set it on the High setting (1500W 11.3 amps) and do somewhat better with the overall room temperature.

Puts out a lot of heat
I live in Florida and we had an unusually cold winter this past December 2022. This little heater put out way more heat than a more expensive one that I purchased. It appears to be safe and shuts off if tipped over.

Love this heater
I love this heater because it has a thermostat on it so when it reaches the temp you set it for this heater automatically turns off. It is also safe. Once it tip over when I walked into it in the middle of the night and it automatically shut off. I would buy this again and again, but it seems to last a very long time. Love this heater, it is safe and quiet and works great.

Failed within 3 months
Despite this radiant heater having good reviews, this heater was not well made. The first thing I noticed was the rather loud, mechanical sound as the thermostat restarted the heating elements, and the noticeable fan noise. The heat output was fine, and I never turned on the 1500W setting. This proved good enough to warm my home office and my cat liked to lay withing a few feet of the heater. However, within three months of on and off use the unit failed to restart after the thermostat turned off the bars. No fiddling with the thermostat dial, or letting the unit cool overnight and trying to restart it worked. It was returned to AMZN.The unit gets 1 star because it proved to be a low-quality piece of junk. These things lasted for decades when I was young, but it seems no longer. I am still on the lookout for a quality radiant heater.

Keeps on Working Now for 3 Winters
I use it in our boat house to dry things that would mold when they are stored for winter. We also use it in our RV to supplement the propane heat. It's been going strong for 3 years. The 1200 watt setting is enough to do both tasks without burning up items that are close by.It's a sturdy old fashioned metal box with a 1200 and 1500 watt fan forced radiant heater. It's not silent, but it is quiet enough to run over night while sleeping. The thermostat is sensitive enough, about what you should expect in an inexpensive device like this. The swing between off and on is about 3 degrees.

Amazing Heat
The heater has a small footprint. Perfect for a tiny apartment. I turned it on and there was some noise, so be ready for it. Very low and you barely hear it. But it is not as loud as a regular fan. I only turned it to 1250W and it warmed the immediate area within 30 seconds. Magic! I'm not turning on the furnace this year and this little thing will take the edge off 57 degrees in a small room in no time. Only had it for one day but I'm very happy with it.

Amazing
This is absolutely perfect and boy. Oh boy, does it stay warm and get warm. I like the fact that it has a heat range where I can turn it high medium or low and even the wattage can be changed. This is a great buy if you spend a lot of time in the garage absolutely worth it in every way.
