This is one of my favorite matchas. I drink it both as usucha (thin matcha) and koicha (thick matcha). As I have gotten more into matchas, I have found that there is pretty wide variation in tastes among matchas. I have also found that each type of matcha can produce very different flavor profiles as usucha and koicha. Some kinds I like as usucha, but I don’t like as koicha. Others I like as koicha, but not as usucha. Nippon Cha’s Katana is one of the few that I like both ways. As usucha, Katana is light, refreshing, and moderately sweet. As koicha, Katana has a sweet, earthy flavor. Katana’s packaging is also high quality. The container is simple and classy-looking, and there’s a removable plastic air seal inside to help keep the matcha fresh. I’d recommend Katana in general, and would especially recommend it to someone new to ceremonial grade matchas

Since my Japanese source for matcha has become too expensive during COVID, I decided to try a brand from Amazon. This is tasty in my lattes and seems to blend well when I use my electric whisk. I will continue to buy this brand until I can again source my matcha directly from Japan.

I was very happy with the quality/freshness of this product. This tastes just as fresh as matcha I purchased while in Japan. Normally ordering matcha online is a huge gamble but this one was exactly what it should be, and I will certainly be ordering this again!

Matcha has terroir like wines do. This matcha does not meet my flavor preferences. Umami is mild and it has a green, grassy taste.

This matcha is great for people who don't like the grassy flavor that green tea can sometimes have. It had complex but subtle flavors and a just ever so slightly bitter finish. Whisks better than any of the other Amazon matcha I found in terms of dissolving, but didn't foam as well as some others.

I’m always in search of a quality matcha sourced from Japan. This is a quality matcha that I would drink on a daily basis. It’s very smooth with no astringency but lacks the energy kick I usually get from a very high quality matcha.

I love the tin it kept it fresh the taste was delicious and I was able to get a awesome froth the best part is it’s radiation freeI will differently buy it again highly recommended this tea
