Short but Sweet
Li Li Stormstout is a young Pandaren student who idolises her wandering uncle Chen and dreams of seeing the world with him. After Chen's letters stop coming however Li Li decides to go on her own adventure to find him, leaving the her home and family to search for her missing uncle. Worried about his daughter Li Li's father sends Bo, the greatest martial artist on the Great Turtle, to bring her back but a Naga Sea Witch and her cohorts also have their sights set on the young Pandaren'Pearl of Pandaria' is a brief but entertaining graphic novel that gives some backstory for a couple of the NPCs a player will meet in the Mists of Pandaria expansion for 'World of Warcraft'. The book has some a reasonably entertaining plot with some nice humour throughout, as well as some good action and emotional moments towards the end. On the downside, I feel the story was far too brief and there were many places where the plot and the characters could have been developed a lot more. Despite this brevity I did like some of the characters themselves with both main characters, Bo and Li Li, being my favourites in the comic. While I am not generally a great fan of the art style but I feel that it did work for this graphic novel. The landscape format on the other hand is something I didn't like much, even though this does give some nice panoramic shots now and again. The book also has a section showing some of the initial sketches and concept art for the story.'Pearl of Pandaria' is a nice but short story that has got me interested in the 'World of Warcraft' expanded universe once again and I would say it is worth a solid four star.

Excellent back-story.
A fun and sometimes even moving read from cover to cover. Lots of back story for my two favorite NPC from MoP expansion, with lots of small references from in-game for those who will recognize them. The online sequel set of "journals" was at times a lot more grim and dire, up until the separate LiLi's adventures shorts. This had humor and a great story, artwork was excellent.
