Crayola Colored Pencils & Dual Ended Colored Pencils Bundle, Stocking Stuffers, Adult Coloring Gift

I picked up a a set of 24 of these new Crayola Artist Colored pencils to see how they compared to other artist quality pencils I have been using. I did a side by side comparison with five other brands of colored pencils I use most of the time. See attached photos for some comparison results.These new Crayolas compare well with Prismacolor pencils, but they have a little less coverage power. They have about the same amount of wax bloom as the Prismacolors and they also feel about the same when you lay them on paper. They do sharpen better than my Prismacolors and I can get a nice fine point on them when I want one. They also blend and layer just about the same as the Prismacolors.Compared to the other well know brands, 3 of which are oil based they have much more wax bloom. They have less covering power than most of the others, but they still do a good job. The adds from Crayola and the box claim they work well on dark papers. I did a small comparison of them vs. The Prismacolors and you almost can’t tell them apart on black paper.In conclusion I would recommend these to anyone who wants a decent set of color pencils at a good price. They would also be a good set for someone doing adult coloring books or for that young artist who should have something better than those cheap large sets you can buy at the discount prices.Beware that the tin of 24 comes in two different forms, one with 24 in one row and another with two rows of 12, one of top of the other.

I was curious to see if Crayola had upped their pencil game since I enjoyed them as a kid and I was pleasantly surprised with these pencils. I too was looking for something to use on black paper and these worked quite well as promised. I also own Prismacolor, Derwent, and Caran d' Ach pencils but I often can't help myself but to look for something more inexpensive that does the job well. Paired with my also inexpensive white gel pens from Art N Fly, it was a match made on Canson black paper heaven.

I just started coloring for relaxation and for journaling. This was an awesome deal that I could not turn down. I love that it came with the travel pack and a sharpener. I don't really have much other pencil experience to compare to other than the regular Crayola pencils in the green and yellow box that are just OK. These are nice pencils and fit the bill for me. The colors are vibrant and they glide on paper easily. Applying a little pressure creates even better color saturation. I have had issues sharpening these, with both the included sharpener and a prismacolor brand sharpener. The lead breaks are you're sharpening causing you to waste lead prematurely. I don't think I will purchase again because I would like to try other brands to see if there is better on the market, but these are good pencils. See some of my work I've enclosed.

This is a good deal because it comes with the extra pack of dual-ended pencils, but for some reason I thought the colors would be different than the crayola 50 count colored pencils that are for kids. I already had those and compared the two when I received these and they are all the exact same colors. So just a heads up for anyone thinking you’re getting different, exciting colors—these are the same as the kids colored pencils.

The boxes are flimsy and pencils were spilling inside the shipping carton. And it was difficult to put them all back in because, the box is flimsy and should have been taped at top and bottom. We will put them in something else. This box can’t be resused.

I was surprised by how well these pencils performed. The colors are not as vibrant as my Prismacolors, but I wasn’t really expecting them too be. However, the colors were beautiful and blended really well. They seem like they have a very very fine wax in them that aided in blending. Not as creamy as Prismas but no where near the rock hard pencil I was expecting. I would recommend them if you want an upgrade from the standard hard pencil.

They color nicely but you don't get as many colors as they claim to be giving you. The smaller box contains duel colored pencils(one pencil with orange on one end and blue on the other) so right off the bat you're only getting half a colored pencil which kind of stinks but oh well. The real kicker is that the duel colored pencils are the same colors that you get in the bigger box. Instead of 74 different colors you get 60 different colors with 14 duplicates. If you don't mind paying for more than you get, I'd say go for it.I don't recommend buying a product that cheats you out of your money.

These are ok. Not as great as I had hoped. I'm not sure where the gel is, they're almost the same as their other colored pencils. The tin that they come in is great, though! It has a hinged top that lays back flat so you can set the pencils you're using in it & they won't roll off. I set my eraser & blending stumps there, too while I'm working. When you put them away, they have a molded plastic tray so they won't bang around each other while stored.I think you could find pencils just as nice & a pencil storage box, or roll-up system for less than this set.

Just regular pencilcrayons. Nothing gel about them…
