Good quality. Works very well
Good quality. Works very well My grandfather 87 developed dysphagia and was coughing and aspirating especially with liquids. His therapist recommended to get a special cup that restricts the amount of liquid per sip. I’ve done some research and found only 2 cups that restrict flow: provable cup and rije cup. There was very little info about rije and too many negative reviews for provale cup suggesting that it leaks, cracks and makes a person to tilt head back to pour the liquid in to mouth. We didn’t want that because the therapist said that the tilting head back is not safe it just makes aspiration worth. So we’ve opted for rije cup. We are very happy with it. The cup has deep cut-out at the top so he can pour the small amount that accumulates at the bottom to his mouth without tilting his head back. Overall the cup it’s a good quality plastic cup for it’s purpose, , restricts the flow to one sip at a time as it was described, made solid, doen’t leak or crack. And the most important is, my grandfather likes drinking from it. It’s amazing that you can simply turn the key to adjust the amount per sip and find the right size for him. His aspiration almost gone, he drinks much more and feels better. We bought the 2-pack so he can have one for upstairs and one for downstairs. It’s easy to adjust and set up forThe most important you can make adjust in in any amount with thin or with nectar liquids. handles are good for his hands and with smooth to it pleasant to drink The cups work very well! It was a bit tough to close cup at first, but now it has loosen up. He likes to drink from them,– the therapists said that is very important to prevent aspiration. No leaking, not cracking and easy to assemble and set up. We bought2 cups and set up one for tea and water and another for yogurt and tomato juice. The set up was easy.

difficult to use
I set the cup up for my Mom to use and it was working for a short while, then she started to complain that no liquids were flowing from it at all. Sure enough she was right. Compared to her other cups, this one is difficult to use. It also has too many small pieces that can get lost and for some reason the inserts just don't work that well. It's more work than it's worth —especially for the price I paid for it.

Holds a tall glass of water, works with IDDSI 2 liquids, Attractive Red color prompts to drink more
This cup works well for our friend who has dementia and problems swallowing regular liquids. Thanks to the well-written instructions, we had no problems with the cup’s assembly and adjusting the correct sip size. The cup neatly delivers thick liquids IDDSI 2, it was important for us because he cannot drink regular liquids anymore. The cup holds about 8 oz. But, one has to remember that with thick liquids you need to prepare a fresh drink often because the liquids with a thickener gets thicker that you originally prepared within a short period of time. We bought the red cup as we were told that the bright color dishes and cups prompt people with dementia to drink and eat more - It seems that it’s working as he consumes more liquid now. The large handles are quite helpful for his arthritic hands. On the negative side - the cup could be less expensive though. But otherwise we are very satisfied – the cup does what it should.

Great Company
Despite not purchasing the cups for our inpatient rehab unit, I still wanted to leave a review for the RiJe cups and especially for the exceptional Rije team. They were extremely responsive, informative, and generous in providing our unit samples of their cups. After familiarizing with the cups, we decided not to pursue ordering them. Being a short stay rehab unit with an average length of stay of 7-10 days, the numerous pieces and considerations for assembly would likely not allow for the facilitation of adequate patient and interdisciplinary staff training. Despite this, the cups undoubtedly open up a wide variety of liquid administration options in dysphagia management. The Rije team graciously allowed us to keep the samples as demos for education as potential for cup utilization on a more long term outpatient basis & shared knowledge regarding the cups with our facility's outpatient therapists. If considering the product, I highly recommending reaching out to the RiJe team!

Works great.
Worked great when my elderly father had dysphagia. And the large handles made it easy for him to handle while he was recovering from the dysphagia.

Great cup for independence and safety
My family member has dysphagia as well as numerous other health conditions. She was really struggling with her liquid nutrition. I originally purchased (and kept) the larger red cup but it was too big for them. This petite cup works great and actually is easier to fill if you look closely at the fill marks inside of the cup. It is very easy to secure the two pieces using the bottom portion of the cup to lock it into place. It doesn't hold alot of liquid but that helps those who cannot lift much due to weakness. Seeing her take safe swallows brought alot of peace of mind. Hope this review helps someone else decide.

but he didn't like the taste of the thickener
Thes Sysphagia cups have greatly improved the quality of my husband's life. before using these cups, he could only drink thickened drinks without choking on them, but he didn't like the taste of the thickener. Now he can drink regular orange juice, coffee, etc, without choking. I would highly recommend them to anyone with choking issues when drinking fluids.
