Can i connect 2 wireless headphones at the same time?

I connected a speaker and a headset at the same time, worked great.

How does this handle low volume and quiet sounds? A different one I bought cuts all sound if it's too quiet.

Works fine for me. Have this transmitting the output of a small 4-input stereo line mixer on my desk at work to Bluetooth earbuds so I can listen to the output of two computers, an iPhone and an iPad all at once. Will often have music playing quietly in the background while I’m working and it seems to handle it fine for me. Your mileage may vary depending on your setup though.

Will this work with sony wh-ch710n/h wireless bluetooth noise cancelling headphones?

It works! I use it with wireless earbuds, but it does more. It can turn my old mp3 player with 1/8” as only output into a bluetooth wireless transmitter. It can go in reverse as well, and receive a wireless signal and play on anything with a 1/8” jack, or a 1/4” adapter would turn any stereo with an auxiliary jack into a bluetooth receiver.

Can you pair two of these directly to each other for making a short range com device in helmets?

Yes. I don't know what cross frequency means, but I was able to do this.
