Should have got one sooner!!!
Like other reviewers our dogs are getting older and their capacity to walk far now very limited. Our oldest Maltese has severe mobility issues but still loves to go out for a 'walk' with the other two. So I carry him! That's not a problem I'm used to it. His body is letting him down but he is not ready to leave us yet! We like to walk and explore and the dogs have always come with us. So with our holiday in Wales approaching we needed a solution that would make life a little more comfortable for us all. With this in mind I looked at all the options available. Carriers were out of the question as they are not comfortable for our dog. So our only option was a buggy/stroller. I did wonder what people would think of dogs in a pram! Most are similar to a child's buggy and quite limited on space. If we were to invest in one it needed fit all three dogs. They are small, two maltese and a chihuahua cross. Ideally it also needed space for our old boy to lie down.I did a lot of research and eventually found the bike trailers and people using them for their pets. When I saw the Innopet sports buggy and watched the videos on YouTube I decided to give it a try.Well, I am so glad we did....this is the best thing I have purchased for the dogs in a long time!We had quite a list of requirements and my goodness this ticks all the boxes.Easy to set up - just push on the wheels open the frame and off you go.Folds flat for storage and fits in the car.Adjustable height handle suitable for all sizes my husband is 6ft 4. Large bike tyres for all terrains - we have used it on sand, gravel, rocky ground and through forests and fields. It is amazing, the three wheels are so smooth making it easy to push and it turns so easily even when fully loaded. This buggy has been a lifesaver we love it. It took a day for the dogs to get the idea it was for their benefit. But after a day of sun, sea and sand they were exhausted and ready for a rest. We have taken them along some fairly difficult coastal paths to the beach. Then let them out to enjoy the sand. We then pop the old boy inside and the others trot along until they need to hitch a lift! The mesh keeps them in and protects them in windy conditions. Access is easy. The back panel zips all the way around to provide a large opening and the front also opens. The pocket is handy for water and other essential kit.The rain cover stored under the mattress was used yesterday, dogs nice and dry - we got soaked! The buggy also provides a shady place to sleep. See photo. As it is essentially a bike trailer it is sturdy and very well built but still light and managable. I am so impressed at the quality of the frame and cover. For us it has been a lifesaver enabling us to enjoy our holiday with no compromises. We have walked up to 8 miles of coastal paths each day. We have also walked through town with the dogs onboard away from people and traffic. As the owner of very small dogs I cannot remember the last time I was able to do this knowing they were safe and happy. As they have got older our family walks have become shorter and shorter. Anyone considering a buggy for their small, elderly or infirm dog just do it. It really doesn't matter what people may think. In fact we have had many positive comments from people stopping to chat and hearing adults and children think it's really 'cute'!! We make adaptations to make life easier for ourselves as we get older why not for our beloved pets? Our new 'Sports Buggy' will be used for years to come - should have got one sooner. Five stars.

Brill bit of kit
Lifesaver / Godsend for my lovely 16 year old border collie. She has always been a girl who knows her own mind ... and she lets you know what she’s thinking. So, when her arthritis became too uncomfortable for her to do a lot of walking, I worried that the buggy would be something I’d struggle to get her into. I was wrong. The height at the back is perfect for her to step in... Her face (restful and pain-free) is full of joy and curiosity as she glides across the park. Best of all, she can go everywhere her two younger pack-mates can go. She loves it.It took her a couple of weeks to develop her “I want to get in / I want to get out” routines. Now, she’s back in control! My other concern was other people: I feared that I’d get funny looks. Nothing of the sort! Even teenage lads melt at the sight. The Innopet buggy is robust, easy to steer and a pleasure for the dog. I thoroughly recommend this dog stroller to anyone whose dog has compromised mobility.Three suggestions: I replaced the original floor cushion (which is a bit slippy) with vet-bedding so her footing is more secure. I got a memory foam cushion to place at her back (which supports her and protects the zipped panel from pressure). Finally, for winter, a microwavable heat pad placed at the front keeps her warm when she’s not active.

An expensive but worthwhile investment for your pup!
Our dog is 9 and a half. He recently suffered an ACL injury and is restricted in terms of exercise and walking for the next 8+ weeks. To stop my poor boy from getting 'cabin fever' we invested in this stroller so that we can still take him out to different places to sniff/see different things, utilising his senses and hopefully mentally exhausting him. Before buying this stroller we borrowed one from a 'friend of a friend' which was the same make/model so that we could attend a doggy festival that we had booked before our pup was injured. He was absolutely fine and happy to be pushed around all day resting his head on the front edge and having a good sniff around. The stroller is fantastic - it covered footpaths, bumpy grass and fields, pebbly coastal areas and more, all without the slightest worry. We did see other people with other brands (and other innopet models) that were struggling a bit on the grass. The quality of the product is good. It feels very sturdy though there is a few small 'niggles'. The main mesh window detaches fully and therefore could easily be lost. We keep it in the pocket along with the rain cover but it's a tight squeeze and then means you can't use the storage pocket for anything else. The padding in the bottom is a little thin so we have put a doggy mattress in and a blanket to make it a bit more comfy. It can be a little squeaky and rattly. The one we borrowed had a slight rattle in the front wheel and the one we bought has a slight clicking and occasional squeak in the left wheel. It does come with a free rain cover which fits perfectly and ideal for heavy rain (although for light drizzle, it had a plastic window in the top of the stroller and would probably be fine without sticking the rain cover on.It also includes the bike attachment too which I have yet to use but again, the fixtures and fittings all look pretty sturdy.Overall, I think this is a great investment and I am sure with our 'senior' pup we will continue to use it after his recover to allow him to go on longer days out without worrying about over-exerting him. Also, we did consider cheaper alternatives but most had mixed reviews and these things seem to hold their value pretty well too if you look after them!
