This new upx. 86 fits older up 86
Arrived when they said it would. Nicely packaged, expecting big job to replace the cutting head. However It’s a straight refit longest job was undoing the long strap that operates the cutting head. Just a matter of Rethreading back as originally was. The only thing is the head really needs securing, if you were to pull Hard on branch, maybe it could come apart. So drilled small pilot hole through plastic and just into the Aluminium pole, got small self tapper, filed the sharp point flat and screwed tightly up. Thinking some Strong tape the joint would do the job just as good. Anyway it’s transformed this trusty lopper it is much Smoother action and is razor sharp. (Put some oil on blade with finger got nasty cut) so if you are searching For new cutting head for old model this will do the job

Genuine Replacement Head for old and new versions of this extendible pruner.
I bought this to replace a head where I had managed to break the plastic that the metal anvil (as opposed to the cutting blade) is moulded into. On receipt of the part, I discovered that I had an early version of the pruner. If you have the later version, the head bolts on through the shaft and the operating cord has a split block that makes it easy to fit it onto the existing cord that runs down the inside of the shaft. The early version that I have has a clamping bolt that holds the head onto the shaft and does not have the split block in the cord. I therefore needed to disassemble the unit completely to fit the new head. Instruction supplied were very good though. Helps to take some photos before you take it apart and watch you don’t twist the flat cord when threading it through the centre of the extensible shaft.

Does fit UP86 Model
I read previouse reviews stating it was a bit fiddley to fit. I thought I would still take a chance. All arrived fine well packaged. To fit it, forget about the instructions, a waste of time. I went to YouTube as to fit it you have to take it apart and remove the long cord. Well explained backward and forward to the computer a few times, job done just have to find a suitable bolt to secure the head. Just take your time.

Good replacement cutting head but not sure what purpose the orange guide has other than getting in the way!

Yes, this fits on the old UP86 pruner ...
... but, be aware: the instructions are in diagram form which I found inscrutable. Apart from the addition of the bright orange guide jaw, there are two important differences to the design of this (UPX86 version) compared to the original UP86 cutter head: 1. The plastic part which connects the cutting head cord with the handle's flat strap is in two parts on the new version. This meant that I had to unthread the flat strap from the handle and loop it around the new part. I'd suggest finding a YouTube video about replacing the rope and handle for some clues about how best to manage this. 2. The old head was secured to the handle by a D-shaped plastic fitting which went INSIDE the D-shaped tube with a very tight fit. The new part fits OVER or OUTSIDE the D-shaped tube and is drilled to be secured with a bolt (not supplied with the new head). Because I didn't want to risk the head getting stuck on a branch and pulling free from the shaft, I drilled appropriate holes in the shaft. a 40mm M5 nut and pan-head bolt does the job (and, obviously, you'll need to drill a 5mm hole through the shaft). So, a bit of a faff but it all took less than an hour including thinking time and cost £40 rather than £90+ for a complete new tool. And if you want a really long, tangle-free, easy to use tree pruner, this one lasted for over a decade of fairly regular abuse before the head broke so it certainly does he job.

Expensive but good quality
This does not fit a UP86 but it does fit a UPX86. I have a UP86. Had to make a couple of small modifications to make it fit.

Acoplar cabezal nuevo a perfil plateado antiguo.
