Not for the Faint of Heart.
I have bought several Aedes-Ars kits. This was the second kit I bought, but my first to complete. The first kit that I bought was the Gold Tower. I realized quickly that I was in over my head, so I got a simpler kit (the Crupet Chateau) and completed it. I was then able to complete the Gold Tower successfully. Since then, I have done the La Rochelle Harbor Towers and the Ottmarsheim Abbey. Each one has been a significant learning experience. I am now starting work on the Del Monte Castle. These kits are not for a young child or for the beginner. They take considerable effort and patience to complete, as well as an adequate tool kit. Sandpaper will work, but takes an awful lot of time. I used a dremel for the heavy work. Manicurists' tools are also very handy.I agree that the instructions are difficult to interpret. You have to remember that these kits are being sold worldwide and that the author's native language is probably Spanish. But, once you get the hang of their graphic representations, the instructions do make sense. The kits' design is also inadequate in that they require structural reinforcement (a lesson learned on this model). Those blocks create a lot more weight than the supplied cardboard can support. I used modelers wood and cut styrofoam on subsequent models. I also found that I needed substantially more glue than was supplied in the kit.My major problem with these kits is that they are a less-than-satisfactory representation of the real structure. Windows and doors are frequently mis-sized or placed incorrectly. Proportions can also be a problem. Before you start a model, investigate the real structure online and decide whether you want to make adjustments. You may also want to craft your own doors and windows instead of simply leaving openings as indicated in the instructions. The Chateau Crupet has some lovely stained glass in its upper windows that would show beautifully if the model was lighted. What do I think of this kit? This is my favorite of all of the kits I have done. I am rebuying the Crupet Castle (le Chateau Crupet) so I can rebuild it properly. This time, it will be lighted.

The model is awesome but the directions are the worst
The model is awesome but the directions are the worst. It's not for the piece you buy. It is a general idea map.My daughter is excited to do it but the directions make it so hard to figure out.VERY DISAPPOINTED!

These kits are amazing
The bricks take glue and paints so well and are easy to shape with a little sanding. I want more of these kits...
