Only the consistency surprised me. Very low viscosity (i.e. watery) but it goes SUCH a long way. Only 2 shots from the dispenser into your cupped palm are needed. It gives a wonderful rich foam and has a mild, reassuring scent; nothing artificial here. I can see this product has been through minimal processing. Hence the attributes hand-made, high quality and no-nonsense are all justified.

This is the best beard shampoo I've come across and now subscribed for regular deliveries.No mater what grime I have stuck in my beard from work, whether it's oil and grease from working on cars or machine or building dust. This product gently cleans with ease with just a couple of squirts.

This shampoo smells amazing and had genuinely done wonders with my hair. Only problem is the liquid solidifies in the dispensing part which can make it quite difficult.

This shampoo cleans hair well without stripping it of moisture. Its directed for men's use but works wonders on women's hair as well.

Bought for my teenage sons and husband. None of them like it and refused to use it more than once!As it’s liquid (literally the consistency of water - except it’s brown) most of it ended up over the bath and/or on the shower walls. It does lather ok - if you manage to get any onto your hair - and it smells nice but that’s about it really. It left my youngest sons blond hair looking greasy and had a weird feeling to it. Also my husband commented saying his hair felt the same even though he had rinsed it over and over.£15 in the bin unfortunately 😩😩

I didn't use to wash my hair daily as it would dry out and feel irritated.I use this stuff daily, my hair looks and feels great.

I bought this product today and tried it out right away. As someone who’s been looking for an all natural shampoo for a while now I was thrilled to come across Gnarly Joe, having tried it I must say that it was everything it claimed to be and more. The shampoo was just the right viscosity and lathered up really well: it felt like I was massaging a cloud onto my scalp. It did not leave my hair feeling stripped of vitality and rather felt like I had added to its natural lustre. I am extremely happy with this purchase so far and will see if it continues to be as exemplary a shampoo as it has shown to been on first use.
