We switched to Wellness minced canned a decade ago and our cats are all perky, shiny eyed, glossy with thick warm fur, and healthy. One problem with this brand is that there isn't always the same amount of moisture in each can. Cats really don't drink much in nature and get most of their water from the food they kill, so even though we always have bowls of water for them, when we get cans of food without enough water we always mix in extra so that the food has a gravy which they love and forces them to drink enough water which is extremely important for their health. Aside from that I've never seen happier healthier cats, and I've had 5 of them, all from the humane society, and all began only in so-so shape. Our latest kit was about a year old and had already had 7 kittens herself and had been through a hysterectomy right before we took her home. After two weeks of this food the shaved part of her coat has grown back the first layer, her fur is glossy, her eyes are bright and sparkly, and she has a lot of zest.I know a lot of cat foods have come out over the years but this one is made in the USA and seems to be doing a great job and as long as my cats like it and are as healthy as can be they will be getting it. And, best of all, they love it.

A friend and cat breeder has told me that an alarming number of cats and dogs are developing diabetes as they age. A likely cause is the wheat, corn, and rice used as fillers in commercial food. Grains are especially bad for cats because they are carnivore obligates. That means they can only digest meat. Grain just raises their blood sugar.I found out the hard way when Denny, my 18-year-old cat, lost his appetite and started losing his balance. He was walking on the flat part of his hind feet and sliding across my desk like it was a piece of ice. After a frantic trip to the vet and some expensive blood work, the vet told me Denny had diabetes. (His blood glucose was more than 500. Normal range for a cat is 80 to 120.)The vet told me where to buy a cat/dog blood glucose meter and supplies and some general instructions for testing Denny's blood sugar and giving him insulin. The vet also recommended some different canned and dry foods that might lower his blood sugar.I felt so guilty because I'd been giving Denny lots of treats (cat junk food) and canned food with gravy, his favorite.After some experimentation, I settled on this Wellness canned food at the best food for Denny. It has some grain-free gravy and he likes the flavor. I also feed him a Wellness grain free dry food.Since I switched his diet, Denny's blood sugar has been *in the normal range all but a few days early on*. I still test and log his blood sugar every morning -- just to be sure. Also, Denny has come to expect our morning ritual. (If you ever have to test a cat's blood sugar, start by massaging the cat's ear with a warm, damp cloth for two to three minutes. The cat relaxes and the heat makes it easier to draw blood.)At his age, I don't know how much longer Denny has, but I'll try to make his life as happy and healthy as it can be. So I'll buy him this food until he stops liking it or he develops another health problem.

My cat loves poultry and fish combined; she used to be a chicken-and-herring girl. So turkey-and-salmon is a new variety for her on the same fish-bird theme.She weighs 8 lbs and comfortably puts away two 3-ounce cans between am and pm. It takes her about 5 trips to eat it all down per meal.I just open the can, turn it upside down, and slide the food, still can shaped, into her bowl. Sometimes a little gravy stays in the can; if so i just teaspoon it out.If i’m using a bowl with rims, i leave it as is inside the bowl. If i’m using a flatter, more whisker-friendly bowl, i mash it down with a fork to keep the food in place and keep it from spilling over.Consistent quality + great customer service at Wellness if you have any concerns or questions.

It literally smells good ( for cat food) just a simple push of the fork and it separates. Not that flaked layers like fancy feast. Def could use a water based gravy. It's a bit thick

The first time my cats ate this product, they seemed to like it. My cats like gravy, and since they ate most of it, I decided to buy more. The new cans are almost dry, there is no gravy at all. When I fed them last night and this morning, they refused to eat. I wonder why some cans have a bit of gravy and some nothing at all.

No longer an issue with their digestion problem.This product agrees with them.

I only feed my cat grain free pet food. Preferably wet canned cat food. My cat (who is finicky) really likes this food and I feel good about giving it to him. No grains to make him overweight. No byproducts to make him sick.

My cat only eats tuna; Wellness minced tuna dinner is the perfect food for him! The cube one seems hard to chew for him. I recommend to buy it from amazon because it is cheaper compared to other stores.
