A huge upgrade over built-in camera audio
One can spend a lot more money to get professional audio, but for a high build quality with a balanced XLR microphone input that has outstanding battery life I think it would be hard to beat the value of this little unit. If one is careful to read the recommended input levels for most cameras (and I say go as low as you can go), there's really very little hiss. The mixer is intuitive and did I say how long the batter life is? Sure, I would love to have a second XLR port for true balanced stereo recording. Yet this is overall an excellent little audio adapter for high quality audio in your video capturing projects.

A great audio adapter for my camera video rig setup
Here's my new Beachtek DXA-Micro-PRO Plus audio mixer that I added to my Sony A6500 video rig...I can now use both my shotgun microphone, and also my wireless lav microphones at the same time. I can now control the input levels on both of these microphone systems, and also monitor it with the included headphone jack on this Beachtek DXA-Micro-PRO Plus., It also includes an XLR input for when I want to use my wireless interviewer microphone...😎🎥🎤🎧👍

Excellent build quality, but doesn’t offer much for Sony users
It didn’t really offer a cleaner sound to that of my Sony A7RIV. I tried recording use the Beachtek then directly into the camera and compared the two on my computer using studio headphones and there was NO noticeable difference. I used a Sennheiser MKE 600 for this test. Maybe this device show a noticeable improvement when used on Canon (or other brands), but on Sony, not really. Apart from giving you the ability to plug in an XLR mic or record from more than 1 mic, it really doesn’t offer much more. The build quality and tolerances are awesome!

Works Amazing! Had a slight issue but Amazon Fixed!
So I needed some sort of adapter for my camera to be able to control and capture the audio so it would automatically sync to the video. I found this adapter and decided to take a chance on it. IT'S FANTASTIC! Just the unit itself is way heavier and feels more durable then expected. It's super easy to use and control your levels AND you don't need to change out the batteries but instead just charge it.The only issue I had was after maybe a week and a half of using it the headphone jack started to only play out of one ear. I thought it was my headphones so I bought a new cheap pair but it still was not working.I contacted Amazon Support and after talking to them for 2 min and telling them what happened, they ordered me a new replacement with the fastest shipping at no cost. AMAZING customer service and still an amazing product. If you are questioning to get this, I would say go for it. It works great for me even with the minor issue I had.

Maybe it was good for its time, but now it's useless
I bought this product in 2021 in a hope that it would help me to boost my recordings quality. I carefully studied various recommendations, which were mostly positive. The product had a really good rating, thus I went ahead and bought it. I was shocked, as I discovered that it was totally useless. I compared audio recorded directly from my camera (Sony α7R III) which was completely the same as the recording made through Beachtek. This product may be of some use for old cameras [with reservations, as I haven’t tested], but it definitely was not good for me. I see no point of buying the product in 2021, because even cameras released in 2017 (like my α7R III) have same quality external preamps. Also, I frankly don't understand why this item is still selling. In my view it should be removed from stores. Don't repeat my mistake and don’t buy it.

Professional Movie Sound with a Well Made Product.
This is an incredibly well built audio adapter that actually improves the sound going into your DSLR/Mirrorless video camera. In video/movie production, there's an old saying: "Sound is 90% of what you see." The quality of my media content has not only improved, but has been greatly enhanced by the terrific audio the Beachtek provides. Everything is analog. No menus. Just physical dials and switches which makes for much better control. Everything feels solid (the total opposite of my Panasonic DMW-XLR1 proprietary sound module that costs three times as much). This DXA Micro Pro+ produces a warm, velvety, professional sound when paired with a high quality XLR shotgun mic. I purchased four of these and have them permanently attached to my four Panasonic Lumix cameras. I am extremely pleased with this purchase so much so that I sent a glowing letter of appreciation to Beachtek. I never do that, however, I felt this product warranted it.

Use this instead of your internal camera's preamp!
Much improved, reduced hiss audio coming through my EOS 5D Mark IV and EOS R. The unit itself is pretty lightweight and I'm glad for the all day internal, rechargeable battery. Cheese plate provides awesome flexibility, though adds quite a bit of weight. Best part of this thing is the ability to record a safety track and adjust both channels separately. Use this with a quality boom mic (I use a Comica Pro) and you're good to go!

3.5mm Output Issue
I tried to use the 3.5mm output port but had to be in M mode to get a signal to come through. I don't know why it wasn't working right, but the signal out wasn't even taking account of the gain. How in the world are you supposed to get a signal to come out of this properly?
