This completely solved my problem. After installing , I realized that the resistance motor must have been going bad for quite a while. Works like it's new again.

After being told by the Treadmill Doctor, that this motor "will not work on the model of my stationary bike". It looked extremely close, absolutely identical, even the number, on the stickers on the motors "BK5" was the same. They said I'd have to buy the 90 dollar motor PLUS shipping. I received this bike free from my neighborand was told "it works fine". This bike is the; Sears PRO-FORM CROSS-TRAINER 56. I came close to buying that motor directly from Sears, however, Sears parts were back logged on this $70.00 plus shipping cost wouldn't be in till end of February.So I searched finding similar OEM motors selling for 60 dollars on up. One place had the audacity to sell it for $119.99. All with the same BK5 sticker some were stamped, some of these slick crooks removed the sticker or took photo from the side without the BK5 sticker. And after this review you can bet these sh**sticks will be taking the sticker off so they can gouge unsuspecting buyers. This motor worked, no modifications done or needed. Went on easy, little adjustment needed and wham, I now have resistance on my bike. I would bet this motor fits on quite a few different models of stationary and elliptical bikes. Glad I took a chance and bought this motor. It was $45.00 and free shipping.So why only 3 stars? Its a plastic motor, with plastic gears pulling a cable with a lot of resistance. This won't last, I'll be lucky to get three months out of it. Its a piece of crap, that works (for now) I would bet this motor, parts and labor, didn't even cost $8.50 to make. Why so expensive? Because they can. I bought this for $45.00 from the seller that tried to sell it for double the price. Even $45 bucks is costly. They made a profit from the $45 dollars, they are not a charity, they made a profit.

The part arrived just fine, but when we went to install it, it doesn't fit the machine. It has the same model number as the previous one that was in there, but it seems as though there have been some slight tweaks made to the housing of the motor since I'd purchased my elliptical (Proform 390E) originally (probably 6-7 years ago). It would have been good for the site to post additional photos and/or dimensions for the part because it would have been easier to see that they have different set ups and to perhaps note that the design had changed slightly and this particular one wouldn't work in more current productions of the elliptical.
