The card counter's guide to casino surveillance

I bought this book about acouple of years ago for $99.99 and thought that was a bit expensive, but it turned out well worth the money. I have been card counting for over 15 years now and have managed to get kicked (or backed off) out of more than I would have liked. Expecially in the Reno area where they have the best games in the US. Once in a downtown Las Vegas casino they illegally took me to the backroom and threatened me.And it turned out it was like I expected. I was getting caught from the eye in the sky. I was doing obvious things that made me look like a card counter (see in the book). I can happily say I have not been backed off out of a casino since using the new techniques and hints from the book. I am sure I will still eventually get caught again, but I think I have heavily improved my odds of playing. Excellent book, and it is too bad that the author (Cellini) has passed away. He knew the industry inside and out.

This book is written by an experienced casino surveillance guy. While many of the stories in it are entertaining to everyone, it is clearly written for experienced card counters (if you know the difference between hi-lo and AO2, you qualify). The primary focus of this text is how to stay "under the radar", as any counter knows that this is your best defense. Interestingly, there are some fascinating tidbits about making it more difficult for surveillance to get an accurate analysis on your play once they DO decide to track you. In fairness to the author, I won't give any examples, but any person with a $10k+ bankroll will find the $50 price on this book well spent.

At first the price seemed a little steep but after thumbing through it I couldn't put it down. This was a great read and a must for any player that wants to make a few dollars playing Blackjack.
