Push the open button to clean the edges of lid water doesn’t go through to clean it if it’s closed
As long as you remember to push the button to closed position it is leak proof and heated for almost the whole day boiling water lasted about 18 hours before it went cold.

Brilliant
This is a really good mug that stays hot all day, literally! Coffee made at 7am still burns your tongue at 3pm so beware! Hasn’t leaked yet!
