Fun ShackMen's Pirate Captain Costume

Our work Christmas do had the theme of Caribbean Calypso but this Caribbean pirate outfit went down a storm.I did add some accessories, including a long-haired wig, an earring, finger rings and an enormous bling chain, as well as matching boots, all of which I just happened to have already. There are no pockets in the outfit so I bought a matching satchel to hold things like phone, keys and money. And I went on to be commended as the best dressed of the evening!Things to be aware of:It's not obvious but the coat, waistcoat and shirt are all a single item so to put them on you have to manoeuvre the whole over your head, which can be a bit cumbersome. Also, the trousers are very thin and are probably best worn over your jeans to avoid looking too manly! Finally, the three belts all tend to slip out of their buckles but it's not too onerous to mitigate that.Overall a very good costume.

This is good value for the price, but the description is a little misleading.The Jacket is good quality and has lots of nice detailing. It is just a soft material, not faux leather or anything, But I've used it in a short film and it looks great. The bit that is misleading is that the shirt and waistcoat are not a shirt and waistcoat, but a shirt front the two front bits of a waistcoat sewn into the jacket. So you have to pull it on like a jumper. They do look alright, but I was expecting an actual waistcoat and shirt as separate items.The trousers are a really thin stretch material so I didn't bother using them and just used some brown ones of my own.The boot covers look alright, but in my opinion they aren't as nice as the 'Smiffy's' ones that you can buy separately (which are faux leather look)All in all, it is a great product for the price. You can see the type of material used from the photo, so I was expecting that. The only bit that stopped it getting 5 stars was the lack of whole shirt and waistcoat - I'd rather have had them as separate items (even in a thin stretchy material like these outfits usually are). The hat is nice and compliments the outfit well, as do the belts. That nice gray cloth belt is long, but is also sewn into the jacket and not separate.SO a good outfit for the price, just don't expect to be amazed, just pleased :)

This is awful, cheap and nasty mass produced outfit. Which means it's perfect for me to take apart, adapt and modify for a cosplay. So I'm happy as there's a lot of potential for improvement. If you want something straight out of the bag to wear, then I think you'd be disappointed. But for a base outfit to work on, it's ideal.

Was for my son who is 16 and 5,7 in height, fitted OK but wouldn't say its worth the price I paid. Hat very flimsy so doesn't look like the photo on his head .

Ordered this Adult Pirate Costume on a Friday evening at around 6pm and amazingly it was delivered the next day at around 5pm even though I wasn't even using Amazon Prime - so absolutely no complaints there.Unfortunately, the actual Pirate Costume was incredibly poor quality. Size was more or less OK (Adult XL) but the actual material was really flimsy and shabby, so bad that I'm returning it. Having purchased several fancy dress costumes over the years, this is easily the worst I've ever had - very disappointing as cost was reasonable at around £ 38, and delivery couldn't be faulted.

Bought this for a school fancy dress party on Friday. I wont be using it......I thought the coat part of the top looked quite good. I also thought the boot covers were ok.Sadly, I thought everything else was awful! The hat is shapeless and quite small. The dreadlocks look ok but they are very sparse.The 'shirt' is a bit of rag which partially covers my chest. The 'waistcoat', like the shirt, is a bit of rag stitched badly into the coat. Neither the shirt nor the waistcoat look remotely like a shirt or a waistcoat. They both rely on the belts to hold the front of the outfit together.The belts are also stitched in. The straps don't look realistic and the buckles are very plasticky. They dont actually buckle so just kind of sit in place.The trousers look like shiny nylon - they look like big brown bloomers. I didnt try them on.Overall, I was prepared to give the outfit the benefit of the doubt and I tried the coat bit on. (The hat wouldn't fit - and the trousers were too awful to try).Having tried it I was surprised to discover that it actually looked and felt like an outfit! Shame I felt, and looked, like a tramp and not a pirate!!Dont believe for one minute the reviews saying how great this costume was....
