Strong belt with lots of handles
Very strong belt with lots of loops for handles which are helpfully positioned in two different ways. It is well made with a stiffer yet smooth material, it keeps it's strong shape so we don't worry it will become flimsy like another type we had before. The clasp can pinch your hand if you are not careful to watch when fastening the it tight. We find that for our situation the excess belt length is too long & gets in the way so we have to rubber band it back. The only thing I would change about this belt would be to have a better way to deal with this extra length instead of using the rubber band. We don't want to cut the extra off in case it would unravel at the end. Overall this belt has been a great help to our situation.

Should be standard equipment where ever someone needs assistance
We have used this belt daily for over a month. It is easy to fasten, sturdy and offers many grip angles. We took it to the hospital when Mother was admitted and the staff wanted to know where I got the belt. They thought it was a wonderful tool to assist Mother without hurting her. She is very fragile and bruises easily. With this belt you can use quite a bit of force to lift her without injuring her. I don't know why they are not standard equipment at hospitals, rehab facilities and nursing homes. One thing we did to make the belt less cumbersome was take it to a shoe repair shop and had him cut off the excess belt - it goes up to 60 inches and we only needed 31- and he restitched the end for a very minimal fee.

Sturdy, strong, and very effective
Using this belt to help a 6-foot, 200-pound man regain his standing ability after a stroke. The physical therapist was using one of those cloth belts, but it was very uncomfortable for the patient. This belt is not only much stronger, but with the padding, extra width, and handles on the outside (now the patient doesn't have somebody's knuckles sticking into his ribs), the patient was able to stand with assistance until he re-gained strength, balance, and confidence to stand on his own. We still use the belt in case his balance falters, but since he's aware of the increased safety with the belt on, with all those handles, he has greater confidence to try harder, and to stand for longer periods of time. This has been a great product for us, and I recommend it highly.

Front handhold would make it perfect.
This is a wide belt and is easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. However, I would have liked to see at least one handhold in the front area of the belt. Those front holds come in handy when you are standing in front of patient helping them out a doorway or getting out of vehicle. Still it's a good sturdy belt thus the 4 stars.

Read my review and decide if this will work for you.
Well made item as pictured. The item is best used as a "steadier" rather than a "lifter". When used as a lifter, the belt must be extremely tight, which is not comfortable for the liftee, or the belt will slip up the person, defeating the purpose, and cause further issues. It is almost best if the "liftee" has a paunch so that it will fit under their belly. The belt will fit almost anyone with the adjustment provided, even the very large. In my case, it was not a great success, but may be very good for others.

It works well
We use it to help transfer my mother who fell and broke her left femur. She feels more secure with the assisted balance, and support system. Very solid made. It does slide a little bit up on her ribs, and around her mid section so we keep it fairly snug. Would recommend for anyone who needs the added assist but does not want to use a gait belt.

I bought this after I saw it being used on ...
I bought this after I saw it being used on a thin, younger person. I bought it for my mom who is confined to a wheelchair and has a wide, not tapered mid section. The entire belt climbed up her side and slipped up her head. Bottom line, this product is not for everyone.

it's good but not enough
When I tried to use this on my patient helping him to get up from the wheelchair it annoyed him because I need to tightened it up. The belt slides up to the rib cage if not tight enough to hug the body of the patient.I am using this as a back belt and when I'm walking my patient. Maybe it needs additional sling to hold on to the tigh to fix the belt.
