Very happy so far
I decided to purchase this after some research on wifi extenders and repeaters. Many units either had many negative reviews, appeared overly complicated for my needs or the cost just seemed rather high for what i needed. My xfinity wifi and signal to the far bedrooms, (although within 35 feet of the router), always was weak and intermittant. My children were extremely frustrated by this. After trying different things, I have chalked it up to something structural to the home. My simplest solution seemed to be a wifi repeater. It is simply for my childrens bedrooms so my concern wasn't to have lightening fast signals etc. but something so they could browse the internet and stream netflix and xfinity tv via their desktops. The unit itself is small and very unobtrusive in my hallway outlet. There were no unsightly attenas or big bukly items attached. By following the directions I had the unit connected to my xfinity router in minutes. Another reviewer posted detailed instructions for connecting and I followed that as well as the factory instructions and it proved very helpful. Overall it was a breeze and within 5 minutes both my children were happily streaming tv and browsing on their computers with full bar wifi signal. There have no complaints over speed even though this only connect to the 2.4 wifi signal. I have had it hooked up for a week now and so far have had no issues at all. For my needs, this simple little unit magivally solved a 4+ year problem in less than 5 minutes!

Works great....
I read up on a bunch of repeaters and decided to go with this one based on some reviews. It was really easy to set up and I actually did it from my phone. Now I'll explain how I did it. Based on the directions:(I'm using an Android phone BTW)Step 1: Plug it in.Step 2: Find MSRM on your network list on your phone and CONNECT (It may take 10 seconds or so. It will say connected but no Internet).Step 3: Open browser and type in the address provided 198.168.10.1Step 3: Put in user and password. Both are "admin".Step 3: Click the repeater option.Step 4: Find your network and select.Step 5: At the bottom you will see the name of the device(MSRM) and a blank spot for Pre-shared key. ***IMPORTANT- Put in the password of your network. The one from your router. Click connect or go to next optional step.Optional Step 5: Where you see the name of this device MSRM, you can name it something else if you choose. I just made it the same name as my existing network with a number behind it. Just make sure you don't name it exactly to what's already on your network.Example: Network name is John Doe 1 and John Doe 2(mine has 2.4 and 5Ghrz). You may only have one.Now name your Repeater (in my case) John Doe 3 or John Doe 3ExYou can name it whatever you want just make sure you remember the name. Then just put in YOUR network password and wait for it to reset.Step 6: Once it resets, go back to the network list on your phone and you should see the one you created. Connect and you should be good to go!!!This may sound like a lot but it's pretty simple. Good luck!!!

Happy
My WIFI was too far away from my hot tub / cooling tube and trying to stream videos, order books or just cruise the Internet was problematic. My cell signal out there is also non-existent. I bought one of these hoping to solve the problem. Placed it in several places along the back wall of my house however no improvement in my signal at all. I was about to give up when I realized the problem might be something in my back wall that is blocking the signal. In a last ditch effort I took one of my portable power supplies half way between my house and the hot tub and plugged it in there. I really didn't expect this to work but figured why not. Well it worked well. What little signal was making it through my walls were amplified and I can now sit and stream to my hearts content. When I am not outside I keep it plugged in at the other end of my house from the WIFI so I have good signal everywhere. Well worth the small purchase price and easy to hook up.

Excellent Router Extension Device -Easy to Set up!
It's a great device; I got it because my wife had trouble connecting to her iPad from the bedroom. Once I set up the device it immediately gave her great reception and me a happy wife. It's also not hard to set up the device. You do need a Wi-Fi device such as a iPhone or iPad with which you can access a browser to set up the device as a secure extension of your router, but the instructions are easy to follow and complete. I couldn't be happier.

Don't Plan on Returning This Product
I bought this item because it had no negative reviews. In all fairness, perhaps it really does work well for others but it did not meet my needs. Important facts left out of product description: (1) as an extender, it needs to be located fairly close to the router and not on a different floor level as I had planned. I will be replacing it with an Almond router (a much more expensive product) that can be located upstairs and connected to my downstairs router by a high-quality ethernet cable. (2) the vendor company for MSRM is in China, which means that it isn't cost effective to return their product. I will just discard mine into the trash as I really need something else. If the company had been located in the United States, return would have been practical. Fortunately I didn't pay a lot so my loss is not great. But Amazon really should inform customers when they are buying a product from a company located outside the United States as it will make a big difference in the return-ability of the purchase.
