update
This is an update to my previous review - unfortunately this item was defective, or at least we could not get them to work. Returned the product per instructions - the item either got lost in the mail (yes, I did get tracking number but it's long gone ; I usually verify item gets to where it is destined for before I toss the tracking) or in their return center, but the company has agreed to refund my money. Getting a replacement product won't work as my Dad has since passed away. Thank you Hearing Assist.

review edit
I am still working out how to use these with my hearing problem. I get feedback, tinny voices and unable to understand what is being said, I think it is really unfair to judge these hearing aides till I work with them more. Ok, well, I will change the rating to 4 because they didn't work for me, however, there were many things I liked about the Hearing Assist hearing aides. 1, they are comfortable, good fit. 2. they are lightweight and fit behind the ear instead of on top of to get in the way with reading glasses stems. 3. they are rechargeable!!!!!! Best feature yet. I tried so hard to make them work, but it looks like my hearing . or lack of requires the expensive hearing aides. I had no problems sending them back, I got my refund 2 days after I shipped them back, actually the day they received them back. I would recommend these hearing aides to anyone who needs something less than the expensive hearing aides. Thank you to Hearing assist and Amazon!!

Wish they had worked better
One stopped working on first three levels and the fourth blasted too loud, returned and got second set- then the left ear on three was intermittent on and off. He did not want to try third set. We were given a credit and i am sorry because our home is once again on highest volume so i wear headphones to stand while he is able to hear. Hearing loss is tough to live with.

Exactly like the TV ad!
My husband has been putting off getting quality hearing aids, mainly due to the cost. It's ridiculous how far progress has come in the tech world, bringing the cost down. But hearing aids? NOOOO We had been seeing the ad on TV for quite some time, so I finally did some research on the company and checked out reviews. I expected to find that the HearingAssist product was like those funky el cheepos, but was pleasantly surprised. They're FDA approved, have a volume control as well as 4 different modes. And compared to the high priced ones, $600 is a bargain. I thought I'd have to order directly from the company, but discovered that Amazon sells them, for the same price. And I get 5% back on my Amazon Store Card. It was out of stock briefly so they arrived a few days later than Prime, but no big deal. In a nutshell: My husband is SO satisfied. He wore them for a couple of days with the ear "domes" that were already installed. I noticed that they weren't really going into his ear canal properly, so we switched to the next smallest size (they give you several extras in different sizes). That did the trick. He got them mainly to be able to hear TV and movie dialogue, but can hear better in general. He also is talking softer since his own voice is amplified as well. Good for me! He usually leaves the mode setting on 3 and the volume on 2 or 3. Modes 1 and 2 do not filter out the LOUD chatter of our 12 parakeets in their aviary. So far, we feel this is a quality product for a price most people can afford. I sure hope the "big guys" are paying attention and follow suit. Highly recommended.

After sales service at its best
Wow! This is after sales service at its Best! We purchased the device on 2/19/19. We just experienced that one side of the devices is not taking charge. I was on the phone with the manufacturer for 29 min. The rep "Bill' simply tell me that it passed the return window (which was a known fact). I was instructed to mail the defective devices back and they will determine what needs to be fixed. The process will take 6-8 weeks or may be less. There is only 52 weeks in a year. No other alternative was offered or even a shipping label. I am sure our concern is not the first that they have experienced and they may have some kind of repair protocol.Meanwhile, we will be out of the device service for that periods of time, assuming they can resolve the concern.I can understand electronic device may have issues but the device is barely 70 days old. I have been asked 3 times if we gave purchased a protection plan (he seems to have selected hearing) and I replied that the plan was not even offered on Amazon. For some reasons, I think he is more interested in selling me a protection plan.I asked to speak with a supervisor but I was told it maybe 48 hours before someone may contact me. The interesting fact is he never bother to ask for my number either!Based on my 29 minute experience, I wonder how this company can get a BBB Accredited business status.

Have had hearing loss since I was a child, never did anything about it until now
I have been hard of hearing in my left ear since I was a child. It's gotten much worse now that I'm chasing 60. I did not have thousands of dollars for hearing aids. I had heard that the OTC aids have gotten much better so I thought I'd give them a try. Although having something in your ears takes a little getting used to, the hearing assist made a huge difference in my ability to hear clearly. I wear both of them and keep the right one turned to the lowest setting. They have to sit firmly in your ear. They come with different size tips which was nice. I used the smallest one. At home I can watch TV without having to turn it up loud, talk to my husband without having to have him repeat everything, go shopping and actually hearing the clerk or cashier. I will say I don't like to wear them in a loud restaurant, but generally I don't have to as it's not only loud to me and everyone talks louder. Over all I'm very happy with the clarity and It is so nice to be able to hear everything. They are easy to adjust and once I got used to them being in my ears, they are perfectly comfortable. The self charger is also nice. Just pop them into the charger at night and they're ready to go in the morning. I would definitely recommend.

Works as well as the expensive ones.
I bought these for my 98 mom. Her old pair cost $6000 and we had to put in new batteries almost daily. Now she just recharges them at night. Tried cheaper ones, but they didn't last long.
