Great info!
A great book for beginners that explains to you the craft and a bit of history so you truly understand what hoodoo is. It will dispell a lot of wrong connotations associated with hoodoo and foster a newfound respect for what hoodoo truly is. Even if you do not follow the exact novena prescribed in this book, it's packed with so much great info that you won't the regret reading it.

Fun read not too detailed might want to cross good starting please
Some of the information isn’t what I was taught. Don’t know if I was misinformed or the book is? Might want to cross reference the info? However it was full of interesting information, although it didn’t go into great detail a bit about each Saint it was a good starting point to learn more about Saints. You can also do more research if you find any of these Saints interesting

Nice but has issues.
its a nice book, my only problems with is that the author meanders to much he has a really hard time staying on topic. for example he has a section of a chapter called Spiritual baths however he wanders off into a bunch of unrelated anecdotes and essentially says nothing about how to make the baths, he does to a certain degree later on however. Also most of the book is about candle magic, using psalms, not about saint magic. the only chapters on magic involving saints is the 1st chapter that gives general info about some saints although not 74 like the back of the book says... and a chapter on a mystical novena incorporates saints as well. Its important to understand that this isn't a book about Santeria, although the publisher has it listed in a Santeria section on their website. This more of an eclectic book that really isn't santeria, hoodoo its rays own personal combo of saints, hoodoo, voodoo, wicca etc. He talks about how he is going to cover divination in full but his chapter on divination doesn't really cover in detail how to perform any specific form of divination. He basically defends divination from a biblical standpoint which was informative. But there is really no practical divination info given, he describes all the different forms of divination without really showing how to do any of them. Towards the end of his book he lists all the patterns of geomantic divination but again there is really no information on how to cast a divination at all. Its an interesting book, but i think it needs to be redone. also ray advocates animal sacrifice of roosters i think its important to know that before purchasing the book, if you are against that sort of thing you might not want to get the book.

The Ultimate manual in working with Folk Magic and the Saints.
For sometime I have been searching for the most comprehensive guide in working with the saints in the folk magic tradition of Hoodoo, and this is the quite easily the best available today. I feel that for that reason, and also for the wealth of information in reading vigil candles and the Psalms of the Bible, that this book must have a 5 star rating: it is the complete package for any armchair magical anthropologist or active practitioner. So, if you are debating what you should add to your library, be sure to purchase this wonderful tome for your collection, you will be certainly glad you did!

A guide to petitioning Saints...a good read for those outside the tradition
Very interesting read on the petitioning of Saints. This book spells out which saints are best suited for petitioning particular causes, and offers ritual advice on how to do it, which is good for those who did not grow up in a tradition that does but want to learn how. This is not an occult book, although it could probably be used to supplement occult causes that invoke saints, etc...I saw this book as just a good go-to for the person who more strongly desires to connect with the spiritual realm in the form of petitioning saints for their intercession in prayer.
