It's Complicated

Once again, AJ has written a novel, "It's Complicated". that enters our hearts and souls. In typical Adaire fashion, she had my attention from the first to last page. Other reviewers have described the plot well. I'm a healthcare professional who must commend AJ for vivid descriptions of long term coma care. The instrument's keeping a patient alive always take a back seat to the patient's support/care by loved ones and friends. Ms. Adaire captures this point. More importantly, the story of Tori, Liz and Bev raises the many personal and ethical issues surrounding an apparently hopeless medical situation. These issues need to be raised and discussed while we're healthy. Yet, what do we do when a loved ones health goes array? AJ address this dilemma a thorough and compassionate understanding. All of her characters contribute a perspective to these issues. I laughed, cried and thought through these issues along with the characters. Ms. Adaire is to be commended for skillfully raising the moral and ethical topics in a skillfully written and engaging style. Having read all her books, I can say this is one of my favorites. You won't regret buying it I can hardly wait for her next novel. Write fast AJ-please. ChristieP

I have been a huge fan of AJ Adaire since I read her first book Sunset Island and once again she has written a great story. It's Complicated takes us in a different direction to what we have to come to love about her novels and I loved it. A friendship develops between two women Victoria and Bev that can't go any further because Victoria isn't free, but all is not what it seems and with a reminder of an old foe from the Friends Series this story will have you crying and laughing and ultimately have you asking yourself what would I do in that situation? I would suggest you have a few tissues to hand and a bit of time spare because you will not want to put this book down.

This is yet another great read from AJ Adaire! In fact, I think it may be my favorite one so far.This is at it's heart a beautiful love story... or more accurately 2 beautiful love stories. There is the love story of Bev and T and also the love story of T and Liz. I'd be hard pressed at this moment to tell you which one tugged at my heart more. Both stories come together in a way that you can't imagine and will have you crying more than once. If you are like me, you will also find yourself wondering if you could or would handle things the same way... what are you willing to do for love? How long would you hold on when hope is all but gone? How long would you hold on when someone is not free to be with you but wants to be?The author has a great way of making the reader feel as if they are part of the journey of these characters. I feel like I am reading about my friends. Part of what makes that so real for me is that not only are we reading about the main characters and their love story, but about their family and friends .. and how the journey is shared by all of them. The characters are all so real in my mind that when I finally put the book down at the end, I feel just a little bit of regret that I have to leave them behind to re-enter the "real world".

I have read all of AJ's novels and this one was not a disappointment, very enjoyable and entertaining. This novel had a story that gave you a few laughs a few tears and made you wonder could I do that or would I be willing to do that. I urge you to read this novel and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I now look forward to her next novel. Maybe sometime in the future we could get an update on Bev and T.

AJ Adaire has done it again. Written another winner.A different book from her others with a daunting topic. It's serious subject matter,but the story unfolds in a sometimes sad, sometimes amusing way. The characters are all very likeable and also so very human. The talks that the main character had regarding guilt and the "shoulds" of our lives resonated with me and made me think. Do yourself a favor and read this very special book, it will not disappoint.LESLIE

The plot is original, well written but I could not finish the book!! It just went on and on how the two main characters although attracted to each other could not act upon it, this was repeated over and over again to a point where I got bored and annoyed and not interested in how it ends, bleh!.

Great read finished in one setting will check out other novels from this author. Good story Line and great ending
