Ruth: God's Amazing Love For You: An In-depth Bible Study Paperback – August 3, 2018

I bought this devotional as the first to try to get back on a path of learning and growing in my faith. This book is great for me as I have about 20 minutes in the morning before my kids get up to do a quick lesson. This is easy to read, room to reflect and prompts with good questions. I feel like I'm learning a lot more about Ruth, women as a whole and what I can do to help other women around me grow in their love of Christ.

I really enjoyed this guide through the book of Ruth. It is a large workbook and there is plenty of space to write your answers to the questions and other observations if you want to study things more deeply by using another study alongside it. (I particularly enjoyed listening to the sermon series by "Verse by Verse Ministries" - free on their website/app - which brought out the eschatological themes in Ruth and also provided additional historical context.) Although, another study would not be needed as it is long enough and has enough thoughtful questions to stand on its own. It contains both "obvious" questions directly from the text and open-ended application questions. She also brings in plenty of additional verses from other parts of the Bible, which I appreciate!When looking at the reviews before buying the book, someone complained that the answers to the questions were given right after the question. This is true and I can see how this would be annoying but it is actually invaluable if you are studying on your own so that you know if you're on the right track. I just make sure not to read ahead and answer the question in my own words. Then, if I see that the author has a slightly different answer than mine, it just gives me more to think or write about!Another reviewer complained that the study was mostly focused towards women who were engaged/married/had children. I was single until I was 31 so I understand the sensitivity but I disagree with that observation. I could count on one hand the number of questions specifically directed at the "attached" group. Even though I am married now, I found myself applying the principles to other relationships in my life. Also, the focus of the study is on how Ruth parallels your personal relationship to Christ Jesus. If you are sensitive on the subject of singleness, just bear in mind that it is natural that a study on Ruth, the majority of which focuses on getting Ruth married, would have some application in that area but I'd say it's about 10% or less of the total material.

Nice little devotional on Ruth. Just takes a couple weeks to finish and dives deep into the book of Ruth. Great for men and women.

This is only the second Bible Study I have read by Courtney Joseph. She seems like a wonderful person and I really enjoy how she presents the information. She carefully breaks down each verse and asks the reader questions that allow them to think for themself. Then she includes a paragraph after the question explaining the situation occurring in the Bible. Personally, this allows me to think for myself and understand the Bible better than just reading it. I really enjoyed this Bible Study!However, this specific Bible study was not as successful of the situation I described above as I wanted. I personally felt like Joseph was more biased in her writing and I didn’t agree with her on several occasions. Now, this is totally okay because everyone can interpret the Bible differently. My complaint is that I was looking for an explanation about what was happening in the Bible, not an interpretation of it. But if that doesn’t phase you then this Bible study will be perfect for you! I will also agree with other reviewers, this study was a bit repetitive. I think that can be forgiven though because Ruth is a short book in the Bible.Overall this was a really good Bible study! I enjoyed it a lot and I plan on reading more written by Courtney Joseph!

I recently did this study w a friend of mine and it was great. I did the Kindle version and wrote everything out in an online journal which worked well for me. My friend wrote everything out in the actual book. This study would work well in a group study as well.I love the book of Ruth but never saw it in the light I do now. I love how the study was able to point the while story back to Jesus. Beautiful picture of Christ's redemption.

This book was chosen by one if the members of my Bible study and we alk have enjoyed it to the up most. It gave us a more inside view of the book of Ruth and it viewed that this was a love story of the plan that God had for these 2 people. It shows that God has a plan for our lives if we would just allow Him to be your savior, spend time with Him by reading His word and just listening to His voice and most importantly wait on Him before you make a life changing decision. We are all His children and He loves us all.

Amazing story of Jesus Christ, our kinsmen-redeemer! This study will take you through death, hope, redemption and finally, life! You'll be left praising your Lord, Jesus Christ!
