Worked great on my 1984 9.9 hp Evinrude.
This safety tether kill switch was very easy to put in my 1984 9.9hp Evinrude.I just cut the wires for the original kill switch then spliced the existing wires to the new switch and mounted it in the same hole as the original kill switch. This being said, you'll have to find some very tin washers.Also just so you know if it's mounted properly the pull tether will kill the engine as well as pressing the little red button.I wasn't sure if pressing the button would kill the engine because nobody put it in their review and the listing didn't mention it either.Anyways the button does kill the engine as well as pulling on the tether.

A kill switch key is really good not to lose. This is my replacement after the last one went away. I miss the old days where we could live on the edge of death with outboards that would just start and go. How did I ever survive to my 70s?

Looks like its built real well
The media could not be loaded. Delivered in a week,thats important to me, it looks like its made well, the lanyard is kinda short, but it will make me coast guard approved. It's not lose and take a good tug to make it disengage but thats a good thing. And its cheap $$$$❤❤❤

Quick to install, works well
Put on a Yamaha F4 outboard. Direct replacement for oem kill switch. No need to splice or rewire.

Not enough threads
Not a direct replacement because when you push the assembly through the existing hole, there are not enough (or any!) threads available to secure it with the plastic nut. So this is not a direct replacement on my Yamaha jet boat...

YoHa Boat Engine Safety Kill Stop Switch Lanyard
Overall decent and basic kill switch lanyard, just like OEM. My only problem is that the product description states 55 inch uncoiled length. Mine is 47 inches. It appears the 55 inches is based on the pre coiled and looped ends, that would make up about 8 inches. Nonetheless, that is why I took 2 stars off, due to not providing the actual useful length end to end. I would have liked to have the extra 8 inches. Keep this in mind if you get this item.
