Fisher Space Pen Measure Twice Tactical Pen, Gift Box

At twice the price of the Chrome Cap-O-Matic, I expected more with the Measure Twice pen and it appears that I have received it. I have owned several of that less-expensive model--it is attractive and dressier. But as a tactical pen, the Measure Twice pen is much heavier, more substantially constructed, and provides a wider array of uses. My initial purchase reason was the bolt action mechanism. It provides a greater assurance against inadvertently deploying the pen point. That action has stained a number of good shirts, so I figured that the Measure Twice pen would pay for itself quickly. The ruler, glass breaker, and tactical force multiplier are additional benefits. The measuring scales are subtle and off to the side when the pen clipped into a shirt pocket, and the glass breaker is invisible until deployed. So the pen is simply a stylish basic black accessory that compliments any clothing style. The pen is comfortable to use, has a satisfying heft, and the knurling in the grip area is sufficient to avoid finger slippage. The Space Pen refill is legendary, requiring no further comment. Because I just received the pen, it is premature to know the durability of the finish. After a reasonable break-in period, I will re-visit this review.

This is a specially good version of an already great pen. Not only is a space pen, it is light & easy to maneuver on handed!. Writes easily & well. Great American quality!

I only use Fisher Space Pen’s, and I wanted a step up from the Cap-o-matic, but this wasn’t it. I like the functionality of being able to use a pen with one hand, you can do just that with this one. My only complaint is how much it can rattle when it’s in the middle position and nothing is deployed, and also when the glass breaker is deployed; it can rattle a bit. Not a huge complaint as everything works exactly as described; it’s just a breaking point for me. For how much this, I would’ve expected it to be less noisy, to me it makes the pen sound cheap when in fact it is not lol. The bolt action is also super smooth and have been wanting one as a spare for a while, but this one will be sent back, don't see myself using it. :/

Pretty much as advertised. Feels good in the hand and writes like any other space pen (my edc pens for years). I could do without the "glass breaker" but oh well. As far as the rattle others mention, an easy fix is to tear a small piece of paper, add a short piece of tape to keep it from migrating, and wrap it around the barrel - doesn't take much and the rattle will be gone, and you won't even notice it's there. All in all, it's a nice upgrade to my former everyday space pen.

This is one of the best tactical pens available, great for writing, the scale is handy and the bolt action switch from pen to weapon is fast and sturdy.

Absolute unit of a pen that oozes quality from every single detail -from the aluminum pocket clip attached with two tiny torx bolts to the "f" on the bolt-action to the engraved measurements, this is a pen that was designed to go places. The bolt action function of this pen is extremely satisfying - I find myself switching from pen to glass breaker mode just for the feel of it when bored... makes for a very incognito fidget device, lending to it's versatility! Speaking of, the glass breaker function is a nice touch - always handy to have, especially in a pen seemingly designed to go the distance: I would much rather have something I could use on the end versus nothing or one of those rubber styluses that always wear away and fall off. The pen is no larger than your average everyday pen, which helps lend to it's versatility. Seeing as how it is aluminum the entire way through (did I mention it was DURABLE?), it is heavier than a typical plastic pen, but not so much that it will drag your shirt or damage your pocket. The measurements on the side of the pen are a nice touch that anyone can use. Solid build, useful features, writes anywhere and will survive long after others fail - this is a pen that more than justifies it's value. Solid recommendation for a solid EDC (every day carry) writing tool.
