Designed to provide superior insulation from the ground, this self-inflating sleep pad from Lightspeed Outdoors is thicker, wider, and longer than the standard pad. You have a choice between two sleep pads dependent on your desired comfort. Both camp pads are made of abrasion resistant materials and a PVC-free surface to avoid breathing in harmful plastic smells. Oversized carry bags and compression straps are included for both pads. The Blue/Brown sleep pad made of 75D polyester for a more technical look and feel, features a 2.5” thick center sleep surface and 3” thick pillow and side rails. An R-Value of 5.6 will keep you warm during cooler nights. When open, this sleep pad measures approximately 74.5” L x 25” W. A packed size of 27” x 6” and a lightweight 3.8 lbs, make it easy to store and carry. The Green/Brown sleep made of a brushed polyester for a softer look and feel, features a 3” thick center sleep surface and a 3.5” thick pillow and side rails. An R-Value of 8.7 will keep you warm during cold nights. When open, this sleep pad measures approximately 74.5” L x 25” W. A packed size of 26.5” x 7” and a weight of 5.5 lbs, make it easy to store and carry. R-Value is a measurement of resistance of your body heat transferring into the ground you sleep on. In other words, the higher the R-Value the warmer you stay during the night. R-Value is measured on a 1 – 10 scale, with 10 being the warmest.

Great bang for the buck
Phase 1 - Got two mats yesterday and they are definitely well built. I followed the instructions and let them self inflate overnight then rolled them up, then unrolled them, then did all sorts of stuff to them like... rolling, unrolling, walking around on them blowing air into them, rolling, unrolling, deflating, inflating, etc... The purpose of all that was to get the foam to release and be as thick as possible. That being said I took some measurements. They claim 2" in the center and 3" on the rim and head. They are pretty close. One mat was 2" in the center and the other was 1-3/4". They were both 2.5" on the rim and 2-3/4" on the head. Not too far off but def not a solid 3". I measured multiple times to make sure.So that being said its decent in terms of being close to the claims. I have laid on them and they are comfy for what they are. I also blew air into them to firm them up and that too was comfy. We will be taking them camping this weekend so I will update after that. The material is very nice, I honestly don't know how to describe it other than to say it has a very comfortable feel to it. The material is pretty thick too, it feels very durable.I rolled them as tight as I could and then laid them flat for a bit. Then I opened the valves and they both inflated in less than 2.5 minutes. Not too bad in my opinion. The only cons I would say are the one that is only 1 3/4" thick also had a small glue smudge on it that stands out like a sore thumb on the pretty sea of blue that is the top of this thing. That def slipped by their QC department. The other one is the inflation valve is plastic so don't go wrenching on it too hard. I know some other brands use brass so they are sturdier but that is the only weak point I would see with this mat.------Update -We took these on a two night camp trip and we are VERY pleased with them. I threw them in the tent, opened them up and voila, less than 2.5 mins later they were ready for use. We decided that we wanted them firm so I blew some air in and tightened the valve. As we lay on them we realized that they were a bit too firm but a simple twist of the knob released the air and we each got our mat dialed in perfect. The mat was very comfortable for any position to sleep in. I woke up the next morning with no new aches or pains and actually my low back (which I've had surgery on) felt really good.In summary I would absolutely recommend purchasing these mats.I did NOT receive this mat for free to write a review. Personally I don't even read those reviews because they are so biased. I paid full price for this thing and feel it was overall a great deal.

LOVE this sleep pad
I love this sleep pad! This is the second one I've bought (and I still have the first). Bought this one to replace a thinner Alps brand product. Originally bought one from Costco back in 2013, and it has been wonderful. We even use it for our guests instead of an air mattress because it's more comfortable. My 6'4" 215 lb husband has no problem with it's size when we go camping. I love that it's wider than the normal pads. This is perfect for those of use who are not backpacking campers, but just go on the occasional group or car camping trip.

Lightspeed ... my new favorite!
I am very pleased with this pad. I prefer it to the other two pads I have that were more expensive by far. These other pads are fine and I prefer not to mention the names, but this Lightspeed pad is superior for comfort and seems to be a very durable pad. I bought it for car camping, and honestly it was a bit long for that, but my car is small. The best thing was that I did not feel any hip pressure at all. When the pad self inflated it was pretty firm. But I did blow a little in it to be certain. About half way through the night (pee break time) I actually let a little air out. It was very comfortable and fit the small car space better due to greater flexibility. I would also mention that although I seldom sleep on my back, I found this position surprisingly comfortable, and even on my belly. On both sides it was superlative. I liked the feel of the material and there was absolutely no plastic smell at any time.

The best part has been that all three items have genuinely ...
I start by saying that in the past month this is the third Lightspeed product I've ordered, and I've been impressed with all three of three. The best part has been that all three items have genuinely been free of all stinky new/plastic/factory odors and have not needed to off-gas at all (my wife has chemical sensitivity having previously been poisoned, and all three products were fine for her).I know there are more expensive and well known self-inflating sleep pads out there, but having never slept on any of them, I cannot compare. I will say that these mats (we ordered this one and one other slightly different, even less expensive Lightspeed model) did the trick, allowing us to sleep in comfort on our camping trip. We did put them on a cot, and my wife who absolutely hated sleeping (did not sleep) on our last camping trip with a Coleman air mattress said the she could easily sleep for a week on this set-up.It is also a bonus that they are just SO EASY. No need to worry about access to electricity or battery operated air pump. Just roll them out, open the valve and you're good to go. I hate being dependent on things that require energy use, so this made me happy.

Great for backpacking and super lightweight
I am a 6' tall and about 300lbs, I use this sleeping pad every single night due to my back problems. If I could rate this pad and their customer service a 10 ☆ review? I would definitely do it.. The customer service is beyond expectations, they stand behind their product.. I had to contact customer support for a few minor issues.. Definitely no big deal. I was just in the process of getting to know my future 10☆ camping sleeping pad. This sleeping pad is a luxury. Great for backpacking and super lightweight. Definitely recommend this product!!!

LOVE IT!!
LOVE IT!! It is self inflating as advertised, but you can easily add more air to get to your desired comfort level. Used it on our camping trip over the weekend & slept better than everyone else we camped with. I used it directly on the ground & stayed quite warm; it's rather well insulating. And I could not feel the uneven ground I was sleeping on.I would not recommend use for backpacking, it's only about 5lbs but it rolls up rather large. I would say it's about the size of a packed up camp chair. It comes with a convenient carrying pack that reaches below mid-thigh for me (I'm 5'4"). And maybe 6" wide when rolled tightly? My 6'3", 260lb husband tested it out as well and loved it. Will be purchasing another one for him!

fast shipping
this was ordered out of warehouse deals for a very good price and seemed to be shipped from my end of the country as I received it within 2 days and I don't have prime. how fortuitous (is that the right word?) as we left on a camping trip about 2 hours after receiving. the product worked as expected, I do like the lightspeed self-inflators.

Can't Wait to try it out
Heard a lot of good things about this product so hopefully I will have a comfortable little outdoors bed once i start my adventures in winter. Will be editing this again once I have used it. seems to be very durable.

Just okay
Used to borrow a light speed mattress from my daughter when grandkids stayed over. This one does not inflate as well, so not 100% impressed. It is adequate, but not excellent.

Cómodo y portátil
Muy útil para descansar. Soporta tranquilamente a una persona de 128 kilos de peso. Resistente, se ve de buena calidad. Conozco otros modelos similares que se doblan a la mitad, empleando menos espacio que este en particular.

Not as comfortable as the first one we bought...
I thought this was the same as the one I purchased form Costco last year. It looks identical but the material is different. The original one I bought was much more comfortable. The difference was immediately noticeable as soon as you get on the pad.
