Phones are actually pretty good sound recording devices. The problem is that the built-in mic is designed for someone speaking directly into it. It's so-so for picking up sounds from across a room.I could not figure out why my phone would not record from an external mic.Then I read up on it, and realized that while the plug from the mic fits into the jack in the phone, the electrical connectors on the mic plug do not line up with the electrical connectors in the phone jack.This little cable solves that problem. Or, at least, solved for me. I can now record, on my phone, using an external mic.

After searching for what seemed like forever I finally for the adapter I needed, the fact that I got 2 for the price of 1 makes it even nicer. Ever one I found prior to this one was $15 or more for just 1.

I especially like the two that have a RIGHT ANGLE built into them. Way better when plugging into a little lavalier wireless transmitter that you have clipped onto the back of someone's belt. OTHERWISE... with the straight extender it sticks up too far vertically like a pole and you feel it against your back. So yeah, I didn't even realize how nice the right angle adapters would be.... but I'm happy I bought them! Successfully recorded one video using these one me and a friend.... both with wireless lavalier microphone systems. Everything came out A-ok!

I purchased these because I needed a way to make a Rode SmartLav+ work with my Zoom H1N handy recorder.I had originally been looking for the Rode SC3 adapter, but for whatever reason couldn't find it on Amazon or any other store for that matter.I guess that's ok, because it was much more expensive than this option...and this adapter works great!I love the fact that you get 3 different adapters basically for half the price of a single Rode SC3...so that is definitely a win in my book!I verified that they work well, and am very happy with the purchase!

This is a simple device with no need for instructions. So I expected to plug in TRRS earbuds having a microphone into a standard TRS stereo jack and get audio. But none of the three devices in the pack worked as required. I tried 6 different sets of buds, same result all of them. In some instances I could partially extract the TRRS plug and get scratchy audio in left or right, or the same audio in both, but I could never get separate left and right.I would maybe suspect a bad batch of devices, but there are two different types (2 pigtail, one straight adapter), so they couldn't have come from the same batch. I can't explain what the problem may be other than just a faulty design and fabrication.I now notice a few other one star review complaints about the same problem that I had. So it's not just me. I also now note that some of the 5 star reviews seem to be for a different product, so maybe the good reviews are a hoax.FYI, I tried 2 types of Apple earbuds, andSymphonized NRG 3.0 Earbuds in-Ear Headphones, Wood Noise-isolating Earphones with Microphone & Volume,Control,Antopos earbuds, andOne set of Sony buds, andOne set of no-name buds.I first tried plugging directly into a small (1/8") TRS jack on a small stereo amp, and then tried several other audio devices having TRS jacks. None worked. I also tried using a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter to test on a larger stereo having 1/4" jack. No go.As a final test, I borrowed a TRRS to TRS adapter from a friend and had no problems at all. That device isn't marked with a brand, so I can't identify it. It was a short pigtail similar to the devices that failed, but was not the same manufacturer.These are relatively simple devices, so I am very disappointed that they didn't work for me. The pack was so cheap in price that I hesitate to waste Amazon's money to do a return. They aren't worth the hassle.

I've have an inexpensive TRRS lavalier mic for a while, and while I think it came with an adapter, I lost track of the adapter a long time ago - mostly using it on my phone, but recent had been wanting to use it with my desktop and a dedicated recoder. These fit the bill and I've kept one on the mic itself, but keep the others with or near the recording devices. Far cheaper option than going out and buying a new mic with its own adapters
