Works well on my wireless router
This is a great addition to the honeywell L5100 system for someone who does not have a home phone line or does not want to run a CAT 5 cable to the system. It installed easily and synced up with my wireless router without a hitch. I know it works because we accidentally tripped the smoke alarm once and the monitoring company was calling within about 15 seconds checking up on us.

Fits a Honeywell Lynx 5210
Easy to install on my Lynx 5210. Just needed a system reboot. The WIFi antenna does not appear to be very good. My router is within 17 feet and I still don't get full signal.

Works Great
This unit was easy to install in our Lynx 5100 security system. It will communicate with your Honeywell HVAC control panel (if you have Z-Wave capability). You can control the temperature of your HVAC using the App - Total Connect 2.0. Check out the Alarm Grid videos on youtube for installation.

Works fine for a while
This module worked fine for 6 months than completely stopped working one day. My system won't boot up anymore when this module is connected. I may have received a bad unit but from now on I will buy my security products from stores that specialize in these products and have a real customer service department that I can contact and possibly receive a replacement.

Easy to install, easy to configure
This WiFi module was very easy to install in my Lynx Touch; just pop the front cover down using the two tabs at the top, unplug the Touch and remove battery backup (so it's off completely), then slide the plug on here into the designated spot on the right side of the Lynx. Power it back up and close it back up, and you're done! The configuration is done by going into the device's settings with the Installer Code, and connecting to a WiFi network. Once connected, you can do things like control the system with an app on your smartphone or tablet, and use some Internet-connected monitoring services. This is much more convenient than running Cat5 cable to your Lynx Touch, and it hasn't ever flaked out or had any trouble at my house, even about 75' from the WiFi base station. Highly recommended!

Great little Wi-Fi board for your Honeywell system
Wi-Fi cards on computers can be fussy, so I was a bit worried about the quality of Wi-Fi that I would get for my alarm system given that it relies on the Wi-Fi to handle constant communications with the central station. This board does a great job and enables my wireless alarm system to communicate with the central station.

Could be more versitile
You have to BUY the Honeywell app to use this, now it's only 99 cents, but come on, this should come with the module. That said it works well with Android, but not Fire Android, not comparable. Also can't link outside the WIFI area, unless you buy a Honeywell subscription for monitoring. But for my application, this allows for monitoring in two locations in the house, one portable and a large Android display too. I'm thinking Honeywell is pro installer, not exactly pro do-it-yourselfers.

Limited router options.
I will update my review when I can find a two year old router that this will work with. I'm amazed that Honeywell would field such a simple device that isn't more universal to standard wi-fi routers. I would be embarrassed if I was one of their engineers. With that said, I'm not going to remove my E4200 so the rest of my wireless systems suffer. I'm looking for a E1500 so I can cascade the routers and keep both operational. Unfortunately, the majority of places don't carry E1500's (and most routers on the list) because they're older technology.I'm perplexed at what Honeywell did to prevent a "wi-fi" device from working on all wi-fi routers.PROS: Easy installation, easy programming, built so the 4G module can also be used so you have redundant comm pathsCONS: LIMITED ROUTER OPTIONS, unable to change the default client name that brings attention to your alarm system to anyone sniffing wi-fi, did I mention limited router optionsUPDATE 10/19/2013: I found a new E1500 (Amazon) and after a short time of cascading it with my existing network it's up and running. The wi-fi card connected almost immediately to the router. (Still don't understand the limited router options - will contact Honeywell) I don't have a monitoring service yet, but I downloaded the Lynx 5100 Connect app to one of my Apple devices. Since I cascaded the routers I'm still connecting to my existing E4200, but it's all on the same LAN so the app connects instantly. Once I get the monitoring service I'll be able to do more remote testing with reporting and remote connect with Total Connect.NOTE: In one day of testing, I have had to re-join once with my router. The wi-fi icon still showed active, but it wasn't synced with the router for some reason. If it becomes an issue I'll consider some packet analysis to see if I can identify what's happening.
