Does what it is supposed to do. Dewalt Quality.
Works well. I have several corded angle grinders, but this one allows me to take it to places with out electricity and I don't have to drag along a generator.

Great, powerful grinder.
Amazing and convenient! We have always owned an electric grinder... for many years. We always thought it would be more powerful and would never "run out" of battery. We were happily surprised by how much power this battery powered grinder had!! It was able to complete our project, while using it all day long! We were cutting through rebar and thick metal horse fencing this time. I can't say enough about how nice it is to mot have a cord, and be constrained by WHERE we could use our grinder... it is freeing.

Quality & Reliability
Reliability & performance are what I was looking for. So far, it has met both of those requirements. Will update as time passes. Would purchase again.

Worth it for lighter use cases
A little stupid, and not super powerful. It is clearly not a flagship unit, you can tell by how rough and unrefined the torque delivery is. But for me, I rarely use an angle grinder. I didn't need 60v, an XR, or anything over the top. It's easy to handle, and has good ergonomics. It takes material out with absolute ease, my only complaint is how unrefined it seems, very clearly not their primary concern of a tool. Plenty power for me though.

CORDLESS ALL THE WAY
what you will hold in your hand is a grinder that is nothing short of the power it delivers comparing it to a corded tool. It spins @7000rpm; a bit slower than corded tool but it does not make much of a difference.(actually on some applications it is preferable a bit slower) it cuts, grinds, brushes through and on materials without mercy with pressure applied and no signs of slacking down....- for about 15 to 20 min. then the battery gives up on you...( hey- its a cordless tool) i think for 90% of all the work you perform with angle grinders it will give you the freedom not to to have look for a plug, find an extension cord, get tangled up in all your mess and find out at the end that you still short one foot to reach your workpiece. (sounds familiar) it will help to keep your blood pressure down. but if your work requires an extended usage ... stretch out the cord. unless you are like me(hardheaded/stubborn) and insist on to use this tool going all the way through (same for the hammer drill, saw) a third battery pack is needed (talking about the 20V-3.0amp) since it takes longer to charge the battery than what you have on running time available.[update 1.13.15 with the 5amp battery's it's not even a issue worth mentioning it] my short wishlist of improvements is a BELT CLIP (i'm missing it on my hammer drill since it is not supplied with it and i don't want to spend 10 bucks extra :( ) and variable speed or at least three settings. this would open this tool for a far wider range of applications. 11.24.14 i've been using this thing now for over a year on regular base. like every few days. i only can add that in regards to the quality of tools dewalt tops the list. still going strong this thing.

Entry level cordless grinder great for DIY use
This DeWalt 20V Grinder is a great value for DIY or hobbyist use. It has a comfortable grip and works great on most tasks. Its can cut through sheet metal and rebar fairly easily (with a quality cut-off wheel). Also, with the grinder disc, makes it easy to clean off burrs and other jagged edges. It is fairly compact, not as small as corded grinder, but this is offset by the portability.

Excellent little grinder
Admittingly, I never owned a grinder before purchasing the DCG412. I had used a small air powered die grinder in the past, as well a larger disc sander. But I never really had a need for a grinder. That is, not until I got this one. As with most of the new Dewalt 20V Max tools I have purchased, I first set out to find out what accessories were available and then acquired them. I had to go through a learning curve to understand why I couldn't use 5/8" grinding wheels on a grinder with a 5/8" shaft (7/8" only), but once I figured that out, I was in acquisition mode. I have an assortment of metal & concrete cutting/grinding wheels, flap discs/wheels, carbide blades, and wire wheels. I found the enclosed top wheel cover and spare flanges/nuts at eReplacementParts. I even found a thin sided wrench on Amazon to tighten the inner nut on the fixed hub wheels. Unfortunately, the wrench wasn't quite thin enough, so I used the DCG412 to take a 1/6" off of each face. Now that's ironic. Everything fits nicely in a 15" Dewalt bag. No use having a powerful tool and then not having the proper $4.00 accessory when you really need it. I have only used this grinder 3 or 4 times for real projects so far, as well as dozen test grinds and cuts on various materials. The results have been better than expected. Still kicking myself for not owning one of these years ago. A multitude of projects that could have been simplified with a grinder and the proper accessory. Be sure to have a spare battery or two handy, as the DCG412 uses a good amount of juice to do what it does. Now I understand why Dewalt does not make any cordless sanders, that often need to run for really long periods of time. Being cord free though, makes the DCG412 a joy to use. Nothing to get tangled while you're changing guards or attachments. And nothing to trip over, allowing you to focus on your work. That's rather important when working with grinder, a potentially dangerous tool in inattentive hands. Safety first.

Good quality
Works great as is generally the case with Dewalt. I don't know how much actual grinding will be done with it, by me, it will be for cutting mosty but it's nice to keep handy.
