I am finding this to be most helpful for time-outs for my daughter. Flip it over and tell her she can get up when the blue one runs out, or the red one. It's really, really nice. I did need to add a little bit of glue to the supporting posts, but that took care of it seeming to feel a little loose.

My 4 year old started Pre-K this year and her teacher suggested we use this at home like she uses it in school. Its perfect. It counts 3, 4, and 5 min while gibing a great visual to my daughter. We use it on everything from homework and independent play to time out. Great value and quality.

The wooden frame was very poorly made. When I took it out of the box, the dowels were already loose in the top and bottom. One slight tug and all I had was pieces in my hands. Was able to glue it back together and fix it, but it should not have arrived with the glue joints already failing.
