This book is quite alright knowing the story it is fascinating, apart from the cover, it looks very delicate and made from the recyclable paper itself.

A nice take on the classic fairy tale.
‘Home is all the people, all the places, and all the things that you love. You carry it wherever you go.’ – Jennifer DonnellyLost In A Book by Jennifer Donnelly is a re-telling of the classic fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast. As far as books are concerned, it is a rather nice novel that kept me engaged throughout. However, when re-tellings are concerned, it was just okay, mainly because it features almost all the major symbols that occur in the story (almost). Not that the book wasn’t enjoyable, it was. Indeed, I had a fun time reading Belle’s story in this new fantasy world. Yet, at the same time, the book disappointed me a tab bit. Here’s why:First off, we didn’t really see an interaction between Belle and the Beast. Now I am certain they interacted a lot before the story of the book began and he fell in love with her and she did too but I find it hard to believe that this happened, considering how she was never really talking to him. Only disliking him and getting angry at his secrets (which neither was at fault at).Secondly, although the book featured the curse that the enchantress put up on the castle (I mean, they will have to talk about it if they are explaining how can they talk), it didn’t really show us the enchantress. I know Belle’s friend back from her village, Agathe is the enchantress. But she isn’t mentioned anywhere else. Neither do they know that it is the same person. Hence, I found it rather futile to mention Agathe in the middle of the discussion between the servants and Belle. To someone who is unaware of the story, it might appear as junk information.Thirdly, I didn’t even see my happily ever after! Now I don’t know about anyone else but I pick up a fairy tale re-telling because it gives me a happily ever after and I am very fond of them. To see a story where the curse isn’t really broken, broke my heart a little.

Very light, fun read
Very light, fun read. The book cover is beautifully done. The story actually does the original story justice! Belle learns that LOVE not DEATH will win when she encounters "Nevermore".

So good!!!
📚 So I just finished reading Lost in a Book, and it was so good! 💛 It's definitely a great story for all Beauty and the Beast fans. You almost feel like you're being part of the story together with Belle while reading it.The concept that Belle's going inside a magical book once in a while and befriending its characters and living a wonderful life is brilliant. But she also learns that even if life is difficult sometimes, you must always live your life and write your own story. It's a great message, and the book also shows you that life isn't always greener on the other side. And that love always wins. They also gave it a bit of fantasy flair since Love and Death are involved as well, but it still feels like a fairytale. It also does a great job keeping you connected to the movie with small details such as Belle remembering stuff from her old life and keeping the characters in the castle present. Again, Belle is going a little bit back and forth to the book, so you feel somewhat grounded to the story's reality. And also the first like 50 pages does kinda introduce you to the story before the part with her finding the book actually starts; it helps you getting into the timeline that the story take place and you kinda gets to understand what's going on in Belle's head at that time. And since this book was written for the 2017 live action version of Beauty and the Beast, it definitely has a bit of that attitude to it, but at the same time it feels like the author wanted to pay some tribute to the original, because the library scene here defenitely feels more like the animated version, which I appreciate.Overall, I had a great experience reading this book. I always love when they make stories with Beauty and the Beast that take place during that time in the movie when they're getting to know each other. It's always interesting to watch, or in this case, read, and I think the author managed to create a very interesting and charming story. A magical Disney story to keep the middle grade reader engaged, but even adults, of course. Highly recommend! 🥀
