Good set, works well with other Frostgrave and Stargrave sets
I don't have all the Forstgrave and Stargrave boxes, but the 5 I do have all work very well with each other for kitbashing. So you can put a Frostgrave Cultist head on a Stargrave Trooper body, for example. The arms are all very interchangeable. The detail is good and I think this is a great set, especially for the price.

Great purchase!
I am really impressed with the sculpts, and for about 2 dollars a figure, a bargain. with enough variations of arm/weapon bits they supply you, you can outfit them with just melee weapons; though not enough for all missile weapons. and with the head/neck designs along with the body pose, you can glue them into more action poses. I used styrine cement to 'glue' them together (the plastic wields together as the cement melts the two pieces being joined.) Note, the body part is sculpted along with a small, oblong base (which stands the figure without issue). Round bases come on their own sprue to be glued on to the oblong base if needed. There is one negative to these figures: though it states the figures are 28mm, they do seem a tad smallish next to 'normal' 28mm figures common now; and by normal i mean oversized, more like 32mm figures. to me its not much of a factor, but to some, it might be a big deal.

Horde builder and kitbashing inspiration
I love this set, both on its own merits as set of cultists for wargaming or D&D, and as set of kit bashing bitz to mix with other model kits for some unique units. I have bought all three Frostgrave Cultist sets and will almost certainly by additional copies.

Excellent quality and value for dollar miniatures.
An excellent set of miniatures for all your 28mm scale cultist needs.

Fun kit. Great for kit-bashing, with some warnings.
Fun kit. All of the Stargrave/Frostgrave kits offer a lot of value for the money. The arms and heads are intentionally modular and interchange well with other kits in the range and many kits from Wargames Atlantic and older (non-monopose) Games Workshop kits. They a fair amount of detail and paint up nicely. So why deduct one star? A couple of reasons. First, like moat of these kits, the torsos and legs are one-piece, giving the builder a very limited number of poses. It is very hard to make the whole box not look like they're riverdancing, with identical leg poses. Additionally, one of the poses has his leg in the air, as if leaping or standing on a "tactical rock." Unfortunately there is only a small peg under the foot, looking rather like a hoof. I am in the process of building basing material around these to make them look a little more natural. Which brings me to my last gripe: These all have the molded-in bases. If you want to add these to an existing army and want to put them on 25mm GW-style bases you will have to do some careful cutting, sanding, and gluing. I am planning on using many of them as chaos cultists for WH40, and with some gun arms from some other kits and some 25mm bases I think they'll work well.

I will be back for many more of these
20 cult figures with really fun detail that I can easily kit-bash into monsters? Yeah this is one of the best deals for getting some minis for the original game or your tabletop campaign!
