Perfect replacement
This was an exact replacement for my original Howden cylinder heater, but this one has an extra re-settable thermal cut-out for added safety.the Howden ones are the only ones that I have seen that the hole in the cylinder is ovalish shaped, & an element that is held through by 4 'normal' bolts, as opposed to to the usual round hole, held through with a huge nut! and has to be undone with a HUGE spanner!The HOWDEN one was EASY to remove, & fit the new one.

Be careful not to use too much force when removing the original as the tank could become distorted
Easier to replace the old unit than I thought but still a challenge as original had been in for at leat 40 years
