UV Protection Arm Sleeves Men Women Cycling Driving Golfing Running

These are great! If you want sun protection, here's your gift to yourself. They are not tight, easy to put on and they are not hot to wear when golfing or out in the sun. They wash up very nicely and are comfortable.

Bought the SHINYMOD UV Protection Arm Sleeves recently. It was a package of 3 (Blue, White, Neon). The claim is UV protection and Cooling. Bought in early spring, so don't really know about the UV protection yet. Will know more in mid summer. First colors. The neon and white are as pictured. The blue is not. I expected a bright blue. It is actually a dark navy. At first I thought it was black, the one color I want to avoid. One does not wear black and expect a cooling effect. So colors are ok, but blue is basically black.Wash Them: The instructions say to wash gently first, They are correct. Color will bleed out when rinsed. Better in the sink than on your arms.Cooling Effect: I put on a pair in the house. They are skin tight and definitely stretch. The cooling feeling is immediate. But I was inside! I put a shirt over the sleeves and the "cooling" feeling was still there. So some of the cooling effect is really a sensation from compression. I took several hard bike rides in mid day sun (in spring). It is true that the breeze adds to the cooling effect, so not just from compression. Conclusion: Better than long sleeve jersey, but of course not quite as cool as no covering. Still, I prefer this to sunscreen (which by the way gradually degrades in the sun).Fit: There is no seam! Wonderful. As for length, I have no problem with the sleeve covering my arm to just above the mid biceps. I'm a slender 5'7" person. However, there seems to be plenty more stretch available. One should wonder however as to whether the UPF protection drops as the material is stretched. I can't comment. It's just a thought.

These are good for my cycling. They are much cheaper than the brand name ones and I like the fabric better. The upper seam does come apart after my wife does some aggressive laundry but with as inexpensive as these are I just get more.

I am in the process of rehabbing my elbow after having 3 screws put in and I've tried so many different compression products to cover my scar and help manage my skin hypersensitivity. Out of everything I've tried these sleeves are by far the best quality for price.These sleeves are very thin and stretch which I initially worried wouldn't provide enough compression but that's been okay. They allow significant freedom of movement and a lot of airflow and the elasticity means that they don't stretch out the way other products do. Before I tried these I bought sleeves from Vive and Compression Z that were thicker and initially more compressive but stretched out to the point of losing elasticity completely within Iess than two weeks. I've been wearing one sleeve daily consistently from Shiny mod and it hasn't lost elasticity. The Shinymod sleeves feel more like thick panty hose compared to "swimsuit material" like other sleeves that seem to lose their elasticity.The other sleeve I have tried was from Bdriven sports and it had much higher quality compression at a higher price compared to these Shinymod sleeves but it had these thick seams that just felt uncomfortable, especially with sensitive skin and a surgical scar. One of the greatest things about the Shinymod sleeves is that they are seamless and won't apply pressure or irritation to the skin which makes them extremely comfortable for all day use. The price is excellent. I can get 3x the number of sleeves from Shinymod as I could from Bdriven Sports for half the price.I do occasionally find I need more compression at the elbow but I have found a method that works better where I layer a thicker knit support elbow sleeve over top of the Shinymod sleeve underneath. This allows me to control my need for compression or freer range of motion during the day by adding or removing layers.The Shinymod sleeves do not have rubber grips to stay up on the arm but they don't seem to need that to avoid falling down and this again makes them seamless and more comfortable on the skin. I still need higher compression from my medigrips at night but lower compression from the Shinymod sleeves during the day works great.I'm 6' but with a narrow bone structure and these fit well by going high enough but not being baggy in the wrist like a lot of brands I've tried even in the smallest sizes.

I have worn 3 different pairs on at least 4 occasions so far playing golf. I will continue to wear them for the balance of their useful lifespan. I do not expect to order this exact product again.They are comfortable and they seem to block the sun effectively. The darker colors (Black and Blue tested) are quite warm in direct sunlight but cool off in the shade. The white pair was noticeably cooler in the sunlight.The white pair appears to be slightly stained from perhaps sunscreen or sweat.The biggest drawback so far for this product is that it it snags very easily on Velcro or hook and loop style fasteners. The same is true for branches or basically any kind of foliage. It catches anything that gets close to it. This is a problem playing golf as many golf gloves use a hook and loop method for fastening.

I just ordered my second batch of these. I play golf in Arizona and use them or sun protection in the sonoran desert. These lasted 5 years and were still good, I only ordered new ones becuase they became grey from all the washes. Highly recomend.
