Great and powerful device
I've been researching for a suitable 2D Wireless Barcode/QR-code scanner to keep inventory at work for a ton of computer equipment, especially chromebooks. After looking at all my options, I settled for the Zebra/Motorola Symbol DS6878-SR. This does a great job and connects perfectly on all my bluetooth devices (ranging from an Android tablet, Chromebook, and Windows laptop). There some configuration settings you can enable (such as enabling CAPS lock by default whenever you can a serial number from a barcode), but you would have to download the manual in order to find those specific settings. The quick start guide that's included with the product is a good start, but if you want to delve deep into customization, definitely find the manual for this particular product. From a personal experience working with this over the months, it definitely saved me a ton of time scanning Chromebook barcodes for over 800 Chromebooks over the course of a day. Working in IT, it's important to keep an updated inventory and this scanner has helped with that purpose. Also, putting a lanyard inside the battery slot makes it easier to hold onto the scanner as you go along getting inventory from various barcodes. While I did not use this for QR codes, I liked the fact that it can support QR Codes and verified that it worked with a generated QR Code I made. The old downside about this is that it did not come with a power adapter (only USB cable to the PC). That's something you have to pay extra for, which should be included for the price you pay this at.Overall, this is a great scanning device for anyone who wants to keep a inventory of all their electronic devices (whether at work or at home). IT might be pricey, but it does get the job done.

No customer support reached end of service in 2021 but still for sale.
I purchased this to use in our paint department and when I received it it wouldn't pair with the base. After contacting Zebra/Symbol customer service they let me know that this unit reached its end of service life in 2019 and was no longer supported after 2021. I shipped it back and got a full refund from Amazon. It's a shame it wasn't supported anymore because it was a nice unit. I guess that is why it was inexpensive.

Work, but NOT NEW
I wish this seller would stop selling these as NEW, they are far from it. They are refurbished at best. One I purchased in Aug arrived with a dead batter in the unit right out of the box. You can clearly see the filth in the recessed areas that they couldn't clean. They work as devices but fix the false advertising in the listing to say they are used and refurbished.

Easy to setup and use
We have over 10 in our lab and they are all easy to setup and use. Battery life for the scanner is pretty good too. That is the only thing we have to replace after 5 months of use

Excellent for bluetooth tablet use
We paired this device with an android tablet and it worked great. Scans reliably and functions either as a HID (bluetooth keyboard) or as a serial device. No fault of the device: Android will suppress the onscreen keyboard when a HID is attached - which we did not want. By setting this scanner up as a serial device and using a 3rd party android keyboard called BluePiano to redirect the scans as keyboard input, we were able to have the best of both worlds.

Don't buy
As far as I can tell this device can only be used with the USB cradle, the Bluetooth in it doesn't work at ALL. It ONLY Bluetooth connects to the USB cradle that comes with it, not to a Bluetooth device (insane!!!). Have tried the 123Scan software, the Bluetooth Scan to Connect software, and Bluetooth Wedge and none of it can simply get it to connect to a Windows laptop. It kinda defeats the purpose of Bluetooth if you're going to want the user to carry around a USB cradle all day. Make Bluetooth integration universal! Will be returning.
