Excellent for head shaving
Years ago and before the advent of either the “Head Blade” or the “Leaf Razor” multiple blade razors, I purchased the now defunct Zirh Shave Gel for head shaving. The Zirh came packaged in a round 8.4 oz plastic tub and was blue in color. The Zihr was the best head shave gel I had ever used. Sadly now they decided to replace the gel with a white cream which does clog the newer multi blade razors shown. I decided to try the “Van Der Hagen” shave gel as I do use this brand for face shave with either their cream or soap puck and a great product from Universal Beauty Products. I purchased both of VDH’s gel, their Precision Gel and the Cooling gel from Amazon. Both these gels are equal to my old experience with the Zirh. I prefer the cooling gel over the precision gel as the smell is more pleasant and not the Eucalyptus smell of the Precision gel. Both these VDH gels do not clog any of my Head Blade or Leaf razors which was a big problem with the proprietary “Head Slick” cream or other creams. The gels are even more lubricating and slippery for a perfect shave. The 6 oz. tubes are very cost effective and can be found cheaper by other vendors but is now my favorite head shaver product. The Leaf razor with disposable 1/2 DE blades is a more frugal purchase than the Head Blade cartridges and availability of DE blades is World wide. My opinions. Ted

Good for dry shave
Doesn’t stay on skin if your face/ skin is wet, works well if you put it on dry and wet the razor, however it is not my style of shaving. Works well but not for me. Going back to King of Shaves.

Feels like slathering 💦 on your face. 10/10 shave.
Let's be real: The consistency of this shave gel is a little odd. As title says, it feels like slathering 💦 on your face. That being said, it's given me some of the closest (and best smelling) shaves of my life. The scent is subtle and fresh, and that weird consistency let's my safety razor glide right over my face with nearly no resistance. Couldn't believe how night and day this stuff makes other shaving creams/gels/foams look. 10/10, legitimately. I'll probably stick with this product for a long time.

Comparing the top rated shave gel
So I decided to do a fun experiment and try a bunch of clear shaving gels that are good for people that have beards. Clear or almost clear gel make it much easier to work around permanent facial hair. All of these had decent rating on amazon so I thought to try them all. So here are the results. All of them performed well 24 hours after my last shave. After 2 days though there was a bit of a difference. The Pacific Shaving Company and Van Der Hagen did not give as smooth of a shave as the others. Part of the problem with both of them is that the consistency is too jelly-like and does not distribute nicely on the face.In terms of scents I lived the American Crew and Barbero the best. I didn’t like the smell of the Pacific Shaving company product. But this is subjective.I let me beard grow for 3 days and believe it or not the Gillette Fusion Proglide easily performed the best. I found this out by covering half my face with one gel, and used another gel on the other side. You can really feel the difference when you do it like that. If you use one gel only per shaving session then its really hard to feel the difference. I really did not like this conclusion to be honest. Gillette is a huge company, and I like to cheer for the underdog trying to come up. Only Barbero was close in performance, and American Crew was also decent.Barbero had a screw cap. What made it worse is that I first opened it a ton of gel came spurting out and got wasted. All the others have a flip cap which is much more convenient. But if you want to support another gel instead of Gillette I’d give Barbero the #2 spot. Third best falls to American Crew. Barbero and American Crew both had a better scent than Gillette. So to review in terms of ranking:1. Gillette Fusion Proglide2. Barbero3. American Crew4. Van Der Hagen5. Pacific Shaving Company6. Elegance Gel (not pictured)Hope this helps. Happy Shaving!

Affordable and effective
This shaving gel is great, I like that it’s clear so I can see that I’m actually shaving. It doesn’t leave a nasty residue on my razor either. It also leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized afterwards (it does have aloe Vera). I really like that the ingredients are straightforward as well! It’s at a great price so I will define buying again.

Great product.
I have icthyosis which causes my skin to be dry, rough, and sensitive. This gel provides a smooth and comfortable shave even with my condition. Additionally it has a unique and pleasant scent. This is my new go to.

Good shave, scent felt like mouthwash
The jel is ok, but I didn't like the scent. It felt like a toothpaste or mouthwash. They could've gone with a better scent.الجل جيد للحلاقة، لكن الرائحة لم تعجبني. الرائحة شبيهة برائحة معجون أسنان أو غسول فم، ليست الرائحة المناسبة لجل حلاقة
