Parachute Games

I was going to cancel my order of a parachute and book thinking what am I really going to do with these and the book wasn't cancelled in time and I am glad it wasn't. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the book at all of the fun ideas it has for fun parachute learning games. Great Book with Great ideas. It helped me make my decision to actually buy a parachute for my kids, daycare, and storytime group. This book has games for small and large parachutes it separates the games into categories such as social learning, cooperative learning, motor skills, ect. each game describes what it teaches, how to play it and complete with pictures to help you understand how to play. I was very impressed and would recommend this book to anyone with a parachute learning toy that works with children great book!

This book is really good about describing many different activities to do with the parachute. I was hoping it was more colorful and funner to read but other than that it gave me some new games I had never thought of. I really liked that it didn't just focus on older children. The details were easy to follow when trying the games out with a group of kids.

We are using the two parachutes for PE in grades 1 - 4. They are well made and look like they will hold up for a long time. The kids love this.

Every grade went crazy over this dvd. I could hardy distinguish the pre-ks from the fifth graders. Sheer enjoyment!

Good ideas

excellent introduction

This book pretty much tells it all, from how to choose the right parachute for your activities to care and maintenance to how to play with it. They list close to 60 different parachute games, separated by low, medium and high activity levels. They describe the game, often with a picture and then offer some insight of what often happens with the children playing it. In addition to listing any additional equipment necessary (balls or a second chute), they'll talk about the duration of the game, when to play the game, good lead in activities and good follow up activities. They also talk about the developmental skills each game encourages.I used this to help develop a curriculum program that I take to schools. It is a great resource for any game leader, educator, recreational director, etc. that uses parachutes.

It took much longer to get the book than I had hoped. It was for a family reunion and came at the end of the week of the reunion. We had the reunion close to our home, so I was able to check for it, but otherwise it would not have arrived had we been farther away.It does seem to have lots of ideas for games using the parachute.
