Install was quick and easy, it wasn't a perfect match for my door but with some tweaking I made it work. Main issue now is the weather strips on my door are a tad thick so the smart lock has a tendency to stop on the last 1/8th of an inch when locking and so it will say the door didn't lock, even though it did, it's only a sliver short of being fully engaged. That's not the locks fault though. The reason for 3 stars is the Nest Connect that came with it is (hopefully) a faulty model. It worked initially, but about 15 minutes after the full install the connect went offline and was unreachable. I removed it form the nest account and factory reset it, all seemed fine until I want to re-add it to the account, the phone (pixel 4 xl) could no longer detect it. I tried creating a new account, no dice. Tried my wifes iPhone, no dice, tried an iPad, no dice. Tried my kindle fire, no dice. Insert 3 hours of trying everything in a bag of tricks as a network admin with no luck. Ultimately got in touch with Google support and after a brief explanation of the issue and what I had done already to try to fix it they didn't make me go back through any troubleshooting, simply said they'd send me a slip to send mine back and they would send a replacement. If I get a new connect that is fully functional, the review will go up to 5 stars, the lock itself works great and I have zero complaints about that part of the package. Edit: just realized now a year later I neglected to update this. Google sent me a new functional nest extender and all worked after that, so the review.has been changed to give stars.

Great lock. Does what is expected of it. Batteries we're used. irregardless and it does fine. It took a little bit for the installation. You have to be smarter than the device. We'll see how long the battery lasts.

A Yale lock is a superior lock, which is what I wanted. I also wanted to be able to access it when I was gone, or if I forgot/didn't want to carry keys. This works great. Easy to install and set up. Locks quickly, has extra long screws to make the foundation of the bolt more secure/stronger. When I run, I can lock and not worry about taking keys with me. We can give a special code to a friend if we are gone. The Wifi is shorter than I would like, but in my house it works fine. It has a sigal plug in that I have about 15' away, which connects to the Nest which is another 10' away.

I ordered two locks with the intent of installing them on a front door and a basement door to replace existing locks. The YouTube video states that installation should take about 15 - 30 minutes. After two hours of trying to install the first lock and getting an error message about the deadbolt, we suspected it was defective. We hired (and paid) for a locksmith who confirmed that the lock indeed was defective. Good thing we had a second! 1) Took the locksmith more than 30 minutes to install. And he knew what he was doing. 2) The lock was defective and the only option I had with Amazon was to select another product and it couldn't be identical to the product I was returning. Seriously? Google would not stand behind the product and honor the warranty with a replacement product. 3) Took 2.5 hours to program the lock and this included over 2 hours with Google. They couldn't even figure it out. The agent actually told me that the Nest Connect could not be connected to Nest Pro Mesh. Can't make this up. Bottom line, the Nest Connect was also defective. Google Customer Support is terrible. The background noise is very loud and you can barely hear the agent. I've had to contact them several times for assistance and found it was more effective for me to search for solutions on my own. Needless to say, there is no way we are installing the second lock which is now returned; I don't have the appetite or time to go through this again. Based on these experiences, I am reconsidering my commitment to Google and the purchase of future products. I feel that I am being penalized by Google for being an early (2011) adopter of the very first Nest thermostat which we ordered months before it shipped.

Makers of this lock thought it threw it. There is no keyhole, but there is a 9 V battery emergency power terminal. The touchpad makes a sound when the buttons are pressed to provide feedback on otherwise completely smooth, and static touch surface. Couple things not so great: the white plug-in unit provides Wi-Fi access for the lock. The unit is plugged in. I suppose to provide Wi-Fi access to a smart lock needs continuous power. They will be even more awesome if there was no separate device at all. Also, the Nest app can open the door, but it requires two taps and a hole with several seconds in between each tap and hold in order to unlock it with the phone. Your left punching in a very long number otherwise. They should make this Tesla users with the phone can walk up and unlock the front door automatically. Walk away lock feature is very Tesla like

I absolutely love the Google Nest x Yale Lock! Installation was easy, and the integration with the Google Home app works flawlessly. I can lock/unlock the door from anywhere and assign custom passcodes for family and guests—super convenient. The design is sleek and modern, and it feels very secure.

Love this lock and integration to nest. Have 3 now and need no keys for my house/garage. Pros: key free, app controlled, auto lock after X minutes Cons: price, installation for older homes. Some of my door frames don’t exactly work great for this lock, it will give me false “unlocked” notifications bc the lock flips over 95% of the way and is truly locked but the electronics perceive it as unlocked. I had to use a drill/sand paper/dremel to make more space. Again I own 3 of these even with the older house con which requires a bit of effort/know how.

Perfect and works with no flaws. Need to chip some wood in the door to fit it correctly. Works with GOOGLE HOME. Product not available in UAE Nest Stores. This is more like an US Version Warranty can be issue

I really like this, and it works well with the Google Home app. I love how I can administer all the users and passwords remotely, and can even look the door when I'm not at home.

Easy to install and it fit in the door pretty well. The nest connect has a few connection issues, took me longer to connect. But after connection with wifi, it was easy to use and easy to create more passwords.

The box was damaged, the manual was torn and looked like it had been wet and dried. The device itself was the wrong colour as per the order and a used item, it had a spot of purple nail polish on the back, multiple scratches and I could see scratches where it had been screwed before. Have sent the item back and awaiting a refund. Had to cancel the installation service and have ordered the device from another company.
