Review: New light on ancient myth - Probably the most fascinating, interesting and thorough mythological treatise I have ever had the pleasure to read. Furthermore, the book was written before his further researches discovered the causes and mechanisms behind the events testified to in this research. Shear genius. The ancients have something profound to tell us about the history of this planet, just as soon as we start to listen, follow the evidence and, most of all, forget the assumptions. Review: Fantastic book - In his groundbreaking book ‘The Saturn Myth’ (inspired by the work of Immanuel Velikovsky) researcher David Talbott analyzed myths from ancient cultures around the world and found that they all described the same phenomenon surrounding Saturn. He found that symbolism for Saturn is the same throughout ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, Greece, and the Americas, and discovered that there was once a celestial alignment involving Saturn that occurred thousands of years ago, as documented by ancient cultures. Based on ancient accounts throughout the world, Talbott describes a period of “great upheaval” in celestial bodies, when Saturn, Venus, and Mars descended and aligned overhead Earth, in a spectacular astronomical event dubbed the “Saturn Polar Configuration”. As Talbott says in ‘The Saturn Myth’: “[The Saturn Polar Configuration is] the idea based on comparative mythology, that the Earth was once in close proximity, or even a satellite of the planet Saturn”. During this celestial event, Mars descended from its position in the sky and formed a connection or stairway to Saturn which became known as the heaven-sustaining giant Atlas, Mount Zion, and the Tower of Babel, inter alia. Various cultures around the world recorded this celestial stairway. The Makirtare Indians of the desertcartian rainforest tell of a time where the hero Ahishama, identified with Mars, climbed a stairway to Heaven. Talbott calls it the “Cosmic Mountain”. I have built upon David Talbott’s theory in my article ‘SATURN, CERN, AND THE CUBE OF ILLUSION’ that you can read online, where I argue that the alignment that Talbott refers to was not just an alignment, but actually a stargate.

Fantastic book
In his groundbreaking book ‘The Saturn Myth’ (inspired by the work of Immanuel Velikovsky) researcher David Talbott analyzed myths from ancient cultures around the world and found that they all described the same phenomenon surrounding Saturn. A real paradigm-buster
Intrigued by Velikovsky's claim that Saturn was once the pre-eminent planetary god, David Talbott resolved to examine its mythical character. "I wanted to know," he wrote, "if ancient sources had a coherent story to tell about the planet . . . I had no inkling of the spectacular tale hidden in the chronicles." In this startling re-interpretation of age-old symbolism Talbott argues that the "Great God" or "Universal Monarch" of the ancients was not the sun, but Saturn, which once hung ominously close to the earth, and visually dominated the heavens. Talbott's close textual and symbolic analysis reveals the fundamental themes of Saturn imagery and proves that all of them--including the "cosmic ship", the "island at the top of the world", the "eye of heaven" and "the revolving temple"--were based on celestial observations in the northern sky. In addition he shows how such diverse symbols as the Cross, "sun"-wheels, holy mountains, crowns of royalty and sacred pillars grew out of ancient Saturn worship. Talbott contends that Saturn's appearance at the time, radically different from today, inspired man's leap into civilization, since many aspects of early civilization can be seen as conscious efforts to re-enact or commemorate Saturn's organization of his "celestial" kingdom. A fascinating look at ancient history and cosmology, The Saturn Myth is a provocative book that might well change the way you think about man's history and the history of the universe. This book is a victim of the typical Conspiracy of Silence, whereby it as been either misunderstood and dismissed by allergic reaction from invested and subsidized orthodoxy or simply deliberately kept from view because of its solid threat both to longstanding normative academia and, increasingly, thought-control media formats these last few several decades. The author, David N. Talbott is clear, precise, and sourced. (Be mindful: This book was published over forty-five years ago at this review's writing.) Here's the starting point: Somewhere over the course of the last couple thousand years- and particularly during written transmission from Middle-Ages, thence, Medieval translations, sloppy or conspiratorial translators, especially mistreating previous Egyptian and/or Greek records, both of those sources then to Latin narratives, mistranslated or deliberately obscured Ancient Truth by rendering references to Saturn [the original "helios"] as, rather, what is since termed the "sun", creating the perception that our current, dominant solar orb has always been what we're told it to be: The fixed central point of "The Solar System", inaccurately reconfiguring what the local planetary/celestial arrangement has always been; that is, by the rendering of "helios" in Ancient Greek- and preceding Egyptian -records initially indicating Saturn, NOT the sun as solar orb. That is to say, that the term "helios", originally designating the unmoving body of Saturn- situated as Earth's unmoving northern polar orb, with Venus and Mars situated between Earth (Mars more proximate to Earth and Venus between Mars and Saturn) became through linguistic ambiguation, identified as the solar body now termed the "sun"; which all conceals the fact that these planetary bodies were rearranged in a catastrophic move resulting in our view of their positioning now. (Keeping in mind, that some of the same mischief may have occurred from Egyptian hieroglyph to Greek, which the author takes great, detailed pain to present to the reader.) For the careful, attentive, and already well-informed reader of The Saturn Myth, as well as openminded scientifically literate but unfamiliar reader, the book will furnish a mind-blowing reassessment of history and local celestial arrangements as we now know them. It's NOT pseudoscience. It's REAL science. By the term "myth" in its title, the book intends an organizing principle that represents previously actual rather than fanciful principles and conditions; "myth", here, referring to the collective memory of disparate peoples of the world, whose received standards of history all converge on the same arrangement described in David N. Talbott's book, "The Saturn Myth". Going on five decades, now, following publication of this book, in the current time, the reader will find Talbott's discussions as per explaining and demonstrating that gravity is derivative from or otherwise functions subordinately to electromagnetic dynamics, not vice versa, rather than gravity being a precondition to explain electrodynamics; which latter positioning, though seemingly so for orthodoxy, is a well-maintained, academic-funding industry diversionary tactic [because operative techniques work in spite of misunderstanding the mechanisms involved; much like remote viewing is deliberately obscured by those training successful techniques but who still don't explicitly identify the actual mechanism[s] involved]. You know you're over the target when you take a lot of fire. You REALLY know you're over the target when you're simultaneously and intermittently ignored into academic oblivion AND taking fire. Love this author. Wish this books was published again so we would not have to pay astronomical prices for the copies. The copy so is holding up and they did a pretty good job of it!
