This commentary on the Gitopanishad by S. Radhakrishnan is the most exquisite, endearing and pleasing read I have come across till now. It is the ultimate flowering of the soul. The dialogues between Lord Krishna and archer Arjuna show us the ultimate path to liberation from the difficulties obscuring the lucent light we hold within ourselves.Many among us are grappling with the issues of life and we tend to feel distraught and despondent. In the atmosphere of apprehensions, this book is a shining Knight. It helps us in cutting the knot of material attachments and, at the same time, it makes us remember that this world is impermanent and so are our troubles. By performing our duties in a spirit of devotion, we can become achievers sans identifying with the ego.The book unceasingly teaches us the true meaning of the variegated types of yoga, renunciation, self realization and the purpose of human life. It is enriched with the beautiful commentary of S. Radhakrishnan who I believe is one of the most profound writers when it comes to the understanding of Hinduism or santana dharma. I give this book 4.5 stars out of 5 for its clarity as well as ripened writing. S. Radhakrishnan is truly a prodigy when it comes to the explication and the elaboration of recondite spiritual concepts.

Unlike some other very popular translations and commentaries, this one doesn't skew or misrepresent The Lord's message to fit the author's social biases or dogmas. This book delivers the eternal essence of the Bhagavad Gita in a way that's accessible to anyone without muddying up it's depths.

If you are looking for easy translation then never go for it.

Dr. S Radhakrishnan, President of India in 1962 has written this book beautifully. His grasp of Indian culture and his way of explaining are beyond compare

You can't really review a book like this as it would vary from person to person. I got this translation of the Geeta because I trust ex president and scholar Dr Radhakrishnan more than sadhu babas (no offence). Though I can comment on the page quality and delivery time, both were very good indeed. Also got it at a competitive price.

There are best commentaries on Gita and this is one of them. Adi Shankaracharya, Ramanuja, Madhvacharya this is mot comparable to it but it goes close to it. It does not mean that this is bad, at all. It is Great, i know. It's philosophical. Go for it if you want it that way.

Worth reading. Perspectives from a wide collection of books from other authors and Scriptures : The Bible, Gitarahasya - B.G. Tilak, Upanishad etc.
