IDS Electric Water Pump Drinking Dispenser 5 Gallon Bottles

We bought this product because we wanted to be able to take our own filtered water with us to the camper for cooking and drinking and still lower our carbon footprint by not buying bottled water. It works really well and we liked that it had a cap on the spout to keep it from dripping - though it doesn't - and keep bugs at bay. Also, loved that we didn't have to hand pump it, it was battery operated, and it has an on/off switch. It doesn't entire seal onto the water bottle we have but it still manages to sit on top and stay there without falling out while still remaining perfectly usable. We've had it two years and haven't replaced the batteries yet. We use it every weekend for a six month period and remove the batteries in the winter when we aren't using the camper. It might seem slightly flimsy at first glance out of the box but so far it has held up really well.

I only wish the quality was better, this works great but I get the feeling the poor quality of the plastic will not hold up for a long time. This is my second unit, as the first one I bought on ebay arrived broken due to the packing or lack there of. This unit was not packed well enough either, although it did arrive in working condition, the collar that holds it to the bottle was cracked and useless. With having the first unit still without a cracked collar, I was able to switch out the part. Mind you I paid for both units and will not return either.

At first, I was thinking of getting the hand pump, but thought that my mother, who has arthritis, would have a difficult time with it. So I ended up buying this. The concept is good, but the quality and design of this unit is majorly flawed. First, the twist-on cap doesn't fit at all on top of most 5-gallon and 3-gallon bottles (please pay attention to all the other reviews. Only a handful of people actually found bottles that are compatible with this product fitting right). Gravity is the only thing holding it upright. The pump still functions, but I can see if you accidentally tip the pump while it's on, you can have a spill on your hands. Second, the motor was working fine for the first couple days, then progressively slowed down. I figured it might be the batteries, so I placed fresh ones in. This did not solve the problem. Given how relatively cheap these are sold for, the build quality and quality control must be poor. I can't recommend anyone buying these electronic pumps.

This is a great pump. I'm using it with a 5 gallon non-threaded jug. I finally figured out that if I unscrew the adapter a little, it will snap down on the top of the jug easier. Then just screw the adapter tight and I have a perfect seal. Also the pick-up tube is adjustable in length for a 3 or 5 gallon jug. With it completely extended, it draws the water down to within an inch or so from the bottom. I'm using it with a small wooden stand. It sits on the floor in our office. The low height makes it easy for even those of us with bad backs to change the bottle. Everyone that has seen it wants one for their office now. We have a frig for ice, and very hot water on tap from the coffee maker, so we didn't need one of those machines. We are on our third jug now and the batteries are still going as strong as day one. Several people in the office are wanting them for use while boonie camping, or for use during power outages or emergency situations. We are very pleased with this pump.

US customer. The box is all in Chinese or similar language. I can't seem to get it to attach snugly to the top of the bottle so it's a little loose and tips back and fourth, I expected it to just screw on. Motor seems to be working well however and we are currently only using it to refill a 2 gallon jug we keep on the kitchen counter. So far so good, for what we use it for and the price paid, but will likely try to find a better one if/when this one dies.

Went bad in 2 months. I now find though that batteries influence it greatly. They don't have to be down very much to affect the flow.But i worked on it prior to finding this out on another I bought after trying to fix it myself. So, bye bye warranty if seller has one even.

I was searching for a water cooler because our bill jumped a lot this past quarter. I found this and thought what the heck, it beats $100 for the other coolers. This has been perfect. Granted it doesn't heat or make the water cold. But you can make ice or heat it up on the stove for cooking. This is extremely easy to assemble. You screw the parts together, add a battery, put the tube into the water, and press the button on top of the tube. So easy! We go through about 1 5 gallon jug of water. We went to the local grocery store to get a new 5 gallon jug of water. The American Legion Post we go to has a water machine outside that sells gallons of filtered water for 25 cents a gallon. What a deal!! I highly recommend this for someone seeking an economic way of getting good drinking and cooking water.

The main reason I purchased this was I had trouble pumping a gallon jug full because of my arthritis and it does the job well. I don't use this daily but rather fill a gallon jug when it is empty. Pump is a little on the slow side but I like it. Pump does not quite reach the bottom of my 5 gallon bottles so I need to pour out that last bit of water. One thing I don't like was I have a little trouble getting the "collar" attached to the bottle. The collar attaches to the bottle and the pump slides into the collar down into the bottle. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

Revived an immediate placement when I contacted the company that the unit was leaking where the spout was inserted in the main unit. Product works well. English instructions are not provided, but is easily assembled. Would buy again.

Good product

plastic screw on to tighten onto bottle broke while trying to put it on the 2nd bottle. so I was able to use it for one bottle.. and it didn't empty on it's own. so basically I would not buy this again.

Super happy. It works perfectly, snug fit, and looks industrial kinda. Love it. *I did clean mine prior to using it the first time. I used dish soap.

It took a little while to arrive, but it works like a charm, I've only used it 1 day so far, but the quality seems good and I'm hoping for several years of use.
