briilliant for emulators
This pad is fantastic for emulators.. Works on Windows (requires Saitek CD software to be installed), and works on Linux too (no CD required) .. Couldn't get force feedback to work on Linux ..But the analog sticks are great - more freedom of movement than most.. The only downside is - only 2 shoulders buttons..

Solid game pad
Bought this pad in 2004 and 5 years later it is still going strong.I use it mostly for driving games, getting the full steering wheel thing is a bit to much for me, and it works pretty well for most occasions.I do miss the trigger buttons of the X-Box controller, so that might be a better way to go, but apart from that this is a very good piece of kit.

Great beat-em-up pad
I got this pad specifically for emulators and Street Fighter IV, partially due to the six button front layout and partially on previous experience with a solid, competitively priced Saitek steering wheel/pedals set and it has not disappointed. The good:- The d-pad is first-rate: solid, comfortable, accurate and perfect for complicated rotational inputs- The six buttons on the front and two broad shoulders make a better configuration than the usual 4/4 split for fighters, my Street Fighter IV skills lept forward two difficulty levels moving from a PS2 style pad to this one- Great value for money (as with most Saitek products)- It's true plug-and-play, I didn't need to install anything- It's slick-looking- It conforms well to my hands, buttons are close enough to facilitate quick sequences of button pressing without being too close as to make them hard to useThe bad:- It lacks proper start and select buttons- The analogue sticks are a little bit light- Layout isn't the best if, like a select few, you play PC FPS games with a gamepad due to the fact it has only one shoulder button each side

A superb Controller but had install problems
This is a superb controller... Once you have it up and running. It's extrememly confortable to hold and use, and is the closest I've found to a PC version of a console controller. It could have done with the button action being a little more solid, but you quickly get used to the feel of it.I had huge problems installing it though. The install software seemed to work fine, but for some reason it installed standard windows drivers rather than the supplied drivers, which just don't work properly. According to control panel it was installed correctly, but it just didn't seem to work and for a while I considered returning it assuming it was a hardware problem with the controller.Thankfully though I logged onto the Saitek website, and found they have an online support forum. After posting my problems, I quickly recieved a very detailed reply from their support engineers with precise details of how to fix the problems I was having. This involved manually updating some drivers, which is not hard if you know your way around the guts of your operating system PC, but could potentially be confusing for some users.Based soley on the controller I would have given this 5 stars without question. The installation problems would have dropped 2/3 stars off this as it was extremely frustrating for a while, but due to the excellent support I recieved from Saitek I will give this 4 stars as I understand that sometimes problems do happen, and they were extremely keen to do all they could to help, which is increasingly rare nowadays.

Emulator heaven!
I've had my grimy mitts on most of the official pads out there and got to say the N64 pad was the best along with the Dreamcast due mainly to the analogue sticks, which does seem to make or break pads these days...er Playstation anyone. 3rd party pads always seem to lack the intuitive design in aesthetics and ergonomics, and as the PC market has no official controller (possibly soon to change with the introduction of Microsoft's adapted XBOX pad) it seems to suffer from these same problems. Though Saitek does seem to be rolling out some admirable efforts. The P2500 is a very nice little pad, playing emulators is a total joy, I spent hours sifting through battling my way through old snes and mega drive games until my eyes bleed... well almost! No problems with anything here... oh there is one... the rumble on this thing is unusable unless you would like to induce a case of vibration white finger.

So fantastic....yet so poor
I bought a second-hand controller for £10 off a certain auction site.Worked brilliantly. The analog controls were good, and the force feedback was brilliant, and could easily be adjust to suit.I used it for NFS:U1, NFS:U2 and NFS:MW. Worked beautifully. For about a year.Recently the D-pad broke, which apparently, is fairly common. If the D-pad hadn't broken so quickly, this could have been a fantastic product.

This controller is elite
I bought this controller to emulate old games on--primarily SNES, but also N64 and the PSX. I have to say, for 21$ you are not going to find a better controller. Installation is an absolute snap, and the repgrgraming capability allows you to customize it to work with nearly any game. The rumble is nice and solid in mine, and the analong sticks have a great feel--nice and loose, with just a little bit of feedback to let you know how far your going. The buttons are all have a strong snap and feel secure. I do somewhat wish the six buttons in the corner were a little fartehr apart, but it's something you get used to and not a major distraction. Overall the quality is quite good and it works *perfectly* for my desires. I feel like I just got 40 bucks worth of controller.
