Yes! Buy this slicer!
If you don't own one of these, then you're slicing all wrong. In my opinion, this is an American classic. Might not be American I guess... but we've had these in the kitchen drawer since the dawn of time. They are most amazing when you rip out the white plastic cylinder. Freestyle Cheese Slicing at it's finest. You can slice thin, you can slice of snack sized blocks for the lunchbox. The possibilities are quite vast, and when you can't find one, your world tightens in around you. You have to search for a knife... and if you use a big one the cheese won't ever let go. if you use a plastic paring knife, you'll be satisfied with the slice, but risk breaking their plastic handle off. The wire slicer option just works, has always worked, and needs to be in your shopping cart if you are reading this review considering the purchase.

All-time favorite of mine
This is my favorite cheese slicer ever.. They are sturdy and long lasting. They don't last forever but I always get more than my money's worth from them. Some people don't like that the roller is so far from the wire but I feel that it allows me to control the thickness of the slice. I feel these work better than fancier or more expensive slicers.

A little too thick for me but worked well
I wish we got a sliver that cut the slices thinner but if you want thicker slices, it works well!

Our favorite cheese slicer!
Not the first time we ordered this item! Granted the wire on the first one broke but it's a fairly thin wire and we eat a lot of cheese slices and after time it's just bound to give out. We've ordered others at various sizes and this is definitely our favorite. Might have to order one for everyone for their stocking stuffer this year!

Broke Ai-De-Chef Slicer Today! (Item C) Poor Quality. No craftsmanship! Poor Value for the price.
UPDATED 5-31-2019. A simple cheese slicer purchased on 1-20-2018 for $4.70 and made by Ai-De-Chef with the Part# K0152 (Pls note Picture C) . Cutting a block of Mild Cheddar and cutting wire snaps in two rendering this slicer useless. I wasted $4.70 on this product. This slicer also comes with a white plastic roller that broke and fell out of the slicer in less than 1 month after I bought it. I found(Pic B) the Cheese Slicer by Songlin on Amazon for $2.46(Buy this one instead folks). My mother bought a Cheese Slicer for less than a $1.00 just like the Al-De-Chef, but was it Made in America and she still uses it today in 2019. Moral to the story is that you don't always get what you pay for. At $4.70 I should have (2) of the Al-De-Chef Cheese Slicers. Pls learn from my mistake.Review #1- A simple cheese slicer purchased on 1-20-2018 for $4.70 and made by Ai-De-Chef with the Part# K0152 (Pls note Picture A). This product is made from a bent steel rod and a piece of thin wire worth abought 30 cents. This product was built by a Chinese national factory worker who was paid a daily wage of $1.25 and a bowl of cooked rice. This slicer also comes with a white plastic roller that broke and fell out of the slicer in less than 2 months after I bought it. I was slicing a block of Mild Cheddar today and the wire of the Al-De-Chef just snapped thus rendering this product useless. It seems like "planned obsolescence" to me
Lightweight construction, I use it carefully. Perhaps I'm dating myself but, things seemed to be a lot sturdier i the past. I'm not looking for anything fancy or extra parts, just a wire on a handle. Oh, well. It's working for now. It seems like "planned obsolescence" to me.

Good product
I wanted a basic wire cheese slicer like we had in my household growing up. They work easily and are easy to clean. This one fits the bill. The handle also makes it easy to use. I’d like it better if it didn’t have a wheel at the back, but it doesn’t get in the way, so this works. Good product.

It's ok
This slicer works but is a little akward to handle and only allows you to cut a block of cheese with it facing one way. The two metal pieces that hold the wire are too thick and you can't actually cut all the way to the bottom of the block of cheese because they get in the way. It's a good choice if you just need a cheap one to use, but it was still a better choice than the other way more expensive slicers that I have bought before. So not a bad option.

Good product
Cuts cheese very well and I like the fact that it’s stainless steel. Easy to clean....I just slip it into the dishwasher

Works great
Have been looking for years for this replacement slicer; just like the old one. Nothing fancy but easy to use and maintain.
